Now you can participate in nepotism freely and openly!

Fake interview are more nowadays. Called for interview but talked abt my life in Australia and other things. Got rejected . Why they have desired qualifications vs required . This is where they play their fake approach. HR help them to draft. Suddenly manager decided to go with a candidate having more desired qualification. Waste of my time and managers time.

Yeah this policy is a real shame. It's basically the end of an "outsider" being able to secure a new job on a team. I get it- managers didn't like having to go through the motions of fake interviews (and the attendant public scrutiny around that!) But rather than address the issue- managers actually should take "outsider" candidates seriously- WF is making it easier for them to handpick their buddies for jobs. So much for even faking a policy of meritocracy!

@1vjf+1nkLId4b the thing is, everyone who qualifies and wants to apply should be given the opportunity just like anyone else. A few years ago I was burnt out in my manager position and wanted to take a step down. I applied for a lesser level role and was offered the job very quickly. Come to find out, they had essentially ‘promised’ this job to someone on the team who was acting in the actual interim position for this role. I was simply more qualified, without a doubt.
Isn’t that what we are supposed to be here for? To serve in roles we will excel in for the company?
I felt so awful they did that to him, but they ultimately made the decision to hire me as it was a challenging and tenured team.
With a policy like this one mentioned in place, it really lessens the potential for truly selecting the best candidate for the role and is more about hiring who you know (and most likely face to face with in office).

This really is a questionable policy that will only end up hurting all of us in the end. We all have less opportunities today than we did last week.

You can search Workday for internal movement and see the articles published 6/26/23.

Half the jobs on the board are prefilled with a preferred candidate if this means more of the jobs on the board are real openings I'm all for it. Fake interviews to comply with Hr policy are cr-p and a waste of everyone's time.

I've seen this in action twice in the last two months. In both instances the team members in question were simply given new roles and were not in hub cities. Sounds to me like it's a way to retain certain talent without the hub city requirement of new positions.

Just Wells Fargo being discriminatory, as usual.

This appears to eliminate the postings where they already know who they want to hire/move to a role, but are forced to post it to everyone. Isn’t that a major complaint on here and lots of other companies? Postings that are already filled but the hiring manager has to go through the motions? Seems like it will save a lot of time and effort for all parties.

This isn't a "new" process - it was in place for YEARS under "Talent Mobility", but only certain levels/roles fell under that process. The more expanded "Internal Moves" started over 9 months ago.

Can someone share what the e-mail said? Earlier today I searched TW for talent mobility, and nothing interesting came up. This evening, however, there were two results reflecting some talent mobility policy that was apparently rescinded on this very day? The links led to something that no longer exists.

It was an email from HR that says it was “Distributed to all Employees” …. Except it WASN’T!

Typical WF to think if they put words in print, it makes the words true.

Des Moines is the absolute worst when it comes to literally everything.

Other than that, it's great.

Des Moines being a hub is no head scratcher. Norwest Mortgage started in Des Moines in the late 1980s.

look at all the movement in sr. leadership, someone promotes to a role that never had a requisition, then someone else moves in to that role, and so on amd so forth until you get to a roll low enough where they might backfill with an actual requisition

Where is this announcement at? I checked the front page of teamworks and all I saw is some funny looking picture of people that look like they want to start an or-y.

Talent Mobility is hoping we all leave. Five openings at a time is a joke. If they actually did not leave people hanging for months when you are not in contention is the biggest issue.

Des Moines is the worst for nepotism.

Tiny community of people that never leave their employer (like it's still the 1960s).

Des Moines being a hub at all is a real head scratcher.

...and you can only apply for up to 5 positions at a time. Nevermind that it takes them 6 months to actually close out a position. "Thank you for applying. Please check back next year to see if we have done anything about this yet."
