Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

if you hate is so much why not leave?

I hear nothing but hatred and contempt for the company on tbj board as well as countless posts on all the abuses one takes in their roles. If things are so bad, why not leave? I would love to hear your reasons for sticking around? I get wanting to wait for 401k match and bonus payouts, but why continue to be abused and hate your job?

I stuck around and made them dump me. I saw so many things. I finally learned how to be detached from the employer, the micro-management, the agile-but, the lack of product vision, architecture and management, the toxic management, the backstabbers, and the chaotic Indians.
I was leaving regardless. But the notice + severance benefit is a far better deal than retirement. Hey it worked out.. Great for me! Onto retirement...
Advice: learn how to quietly quit. If you don't see layoffs coming in your area quit or get hired into those areas (such as mortgage).

No, it's the POS in HY that will be finding jobs elsewhere. Their failed regime will end. I was here first and they can F off, as can their bootlicking toadies.

if you are such a high performer you should have no problem finding a remote job elsewhere.

My reviews and work history suggest otherwise. There are some low performing WFH peeps, fine, corrective action them out. The problem is ALL the execs implementing this garbage are low performing and they won't be gotten rid of until we can pay them millions for doing nothing productive.

Most of the folks who constantly complain on here are low achievers without the skills they'd need to find other jobs.

why would I leave the board when I get so much pleasure gas lighting folks. but seriously, if you know it's bad and refuse to do anything about it then you have no excuse to complain.

This used to be a great place to work which is why I stayed for 34 years. Made my whole career here and planned my retirement for 4 years from now Then Charlie axed me so now I can’t get a job anywhere. My age is a huge factor. So will ride out my severance and retire. Not the way I wanted to go out. I wanted to decide my retirement date NOT Wells Fargo.

Why don't you leave this board?

Reason - families have become accustomed to us bringing home the cheddar that we do AND having the flexibility that we do. To leave here means a likely pay cut and perhaps less flexibility as the new person at a new company......which impacts the family. That's why we stay. We'd welcome severance however.

OP--are you really reading the posts?
most all want severance package...and some of us are so close to retirement we have quietly quit.
yea--it s*cks in the meantime...so we collectively commiserate.

Look at stock price vs comps. Wells is the only one down 30%+ 5 years later. Keep on cheerleading though!!! Mo--n.

Listen up Charlie. You want to know why people don’t leave? How about because YOU are the problem. You have destroyed this company. You are the corrupt one who has abused employees. You are the one that have destroyed people and their livelihood. You are the one that axed good loyal employees. You are the one that moved jobs to India and took jobs away from hard working loyal employees. YOU need to go!

I don't hate my job, I despise the worthless people running the company into the ground from the ivory tower in NYC. They will leave in a relatively short period of time. I was here first, THEY need to leave and take their stupid ideas with them.

Formerly a dedicated worker, now happily doing minimal work for my paycheck.

No reason to walk away for free. Charlie is so out-of-touch with reality that he doesn’t recognize he unintentionally made my life easy.

@ OP+1njAWEWV you must be one of CS’ cronies to say just leave.

I loved my work until recently. I am going to do my best to persevere until I get my severance.

And... go where? With the market the way it is, it'd be an ill-timed move. One can both hate this place and also understand the current realities of the job market.

PS: It's also so easy to say, "Just leave," keyboard warrior.

It is the same everywhere I see. WF is slow to keep up the invented "Skilled Labor Shortage" news.
