Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

How many of you are hanging on solely for the severance package??

There is a master plan in place by upper management to make you miserable, to frustrate you, to add to your burn-out. They want you to leave on your own, to save money on severance packages. Chaz doesn’t care if you are an excellent employee or not - everyone is a number on a spreadsheet - he just needs to get those numbers down as cheaply as possible. As attrition slows, Chaz is encouraging managers to turn up the “pain” dial. All departments have been given their “maximum employee count” which must be met by the end of the year.

It’s illegal (but difficult to prove), however they are particularly focused on forcing out older workers. You have the highest pay, the longest tenure, the most expensive severance package. Here is how they are freezing you out:

  • Cutting your job duties
  • Limiting your authority
  • Humiliating you with low-level tasks
  • Cutting you from meetings
  • Sticking you in a cubicle away from the action
  • Denying opportunities for advancement and learning
  • You’re “suddenly stupid”. They’re nitpicking you after years of great reviews.
  • Asking you when you are going to retire
  • “jokes” about your age, ageist comments etc

Anything look or sound familiar?? Document everything.

Chaz wants you out. Deny him the pleasure and make him pay for that severance package. You’ve earned it after surviving 3 1/2 years of his scheming and disrespect.

Seems to me if you’re not busy and skating why quit? Wait for severance and brush up on your skills in the meantime.

WF doesn't need a concerted effort to make employees miserable, they acheived that milestone years ago.

@scy+1nj9kF6Z The lies happened on my performance review too. I thought it was a jealous, manipulative middle manager trying to downgrade me after I covered for her leave. With the similar stories I keep hearing, maybe it was by design as a command from up top and the managers got to choose who to dole out the lies to, aka annoy to the point of leaving.

@scy+1nj9kF6Z You either have to be a survivor with a strong support system (some people don't have that) or a psychopath to work here.

100% my experience. After 26 years of ratings of either four or five suddenly I was a meets with at least one inconsistently meets comment. I could deal with that, but then the lies in my reviews started. 100% fiction and confirmed by other parties two years in a row.

After doing the same job for five years straight I was attacked when I asked for other opportunities. Low level work started coming my way. I was waiting for severance, but then realized it wasn’t going to happen.

I finally had to leave because it was impacting my physical and mental health. I am so much better off for it because I was able to retire early. It won’t be easy but I’m a survivor. You have to be to work at Wells Fargo.

Every month I don’t collect social security my payment goes up. So I’ll stick it out until they can me. RTO doesn’t bother me because my commute is easy My manager is a burned out drunken good old boy who thinks he’s somehow hurting me by ignoring me. He’s wrong. There’s nothing he can do to hurt me. I don’t care what he puts in my review. I don’t care how sh---y my raise and bonus are. I’m here for the severance and I don’t care if it’s tomorrow or next year.
As far as I’m concerned every day I work is a middle finger in that slovenly old fat fa-t’s face.

I’m all over it, OP 😂. I’m trying to frustrate and make THEM miserable so they will want to lay me off. It’s a fine line, you don’t want to get fired.

My tactic is to annoy them with questions which show them you know they are greedy, double-talking, and ill-intended.

Me!

Some on this list has also been my experience.

I document everything, including dates and times things occurred and emails were sent. I save those personal documentation notes on those situations on my personal device. This way, even if somehow all of my work access or saved items are mysteriously gone one day, I will be able to refer to dates and times for legal reasons. After all, things rarely disappears forever. ;)

At some point, hopefully soon I’ll get the current severance package given to me via displacement and the list will be meaningless.

If not, my list continues and I protect myself and the career I have built in order to fight being forced down or out in an unethical manner by WF.
