Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

How does one become a business execution consultant?

Is BEC a low, mid or high level role?

I'm a BEC. About 107k with bonus potential. I guess that's mid? Really depends on where you live. The role seems to encompass a bunch of things. I'm in charge of quite a few vendors, but no one directly reporting to me.

Apply for every BEC position listed where you are remotely qualified. One is bound to stick!

We work for the same Exec. I bet @2frt+1naJ5jn4 has no clue what business resiliency is.

Yes, I’m lying about my job here at WF. Lying about working for SM, a Sr. Exec who leads BR for the firm. Lying about monitoring critical assets and applications to ensure there are plans and contingencies in place if say a data center goes down. Lying about my 20 + years of experience with 3M and Toyota before coming here 3 years ago. You are a mo--n.

Most of these roles are moving to India it seems like. Maybe start with planning a move.

"I work in business resiliency and help keep the bank’s critical systems and applications running"

No, no you don't. I doubt you even have a login account to any of these "critical systems and applications running".

What you do dump a list of expected ITIL documents on teams and expect them to show them to you in the format you want. When the information the teams have is perfecty fine, but not in some precise format you mark them as not having the documents and then they have to take people away from actually supporting critical systems and applications to write documents in your format.

Then you pat yourself on the back for closing some gap that didn't exist.

Every BEC I deal with creates BS paper shuffling work and dumps it off on others to complete, then sends nag emails.

Senior Lead here … $220K a year, don’t do that much, so hard to leave this place.

Senior Lead BEC here … almost all admin work? WRONG. I work in business resiliency and help keep the bank’s critical systems and applications running and have plans and contingencies if something happens. All admin work … don’t speak if you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Get a job at a consulting firm for 4-5 years. Then apply at Wells

It can be regular BEC, Sr. BEC, Lead BEC, etc. I'm a Lead BEC and make $180K/yr. My work is definitely not administrative. I manage all the legal docs for my division and it's time-sensitive and grueling work.

100k for admin? No wonder efficiency ratio is high!

You do realize that 90+% of BEC roles are glorified admins?

I wouldn't worry about whether or not you qualify. As long as you can copy/paste other people's work into PowerPoint, you qualify.

Pay grade is 100. So I would say midpoint in a level 2 area differential is right around 100k probably a little less. Hope that helps.

Is this question for real? Go to the job posting, submit your resume, and then if you are selected as a candidate, go through the interview process.
