Wells Fargo in downtown Sioux Falls is closing for a couple of weeks because they do not have enough staff to run the bank. They should reopen in a couple weeks once new staff has been hired. Possible opportunity?
Why do you think it’s called “The Cloud”? Duh
What’s in Sioux Falls?
The firm's primary subsidiary is Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., a national bank that designates its Sioux Falls, South Dakota, site as its main office (and therefore is treated by most U.S. federal courts as a citizen of South Dakota).[8]
The email we received three weeks ago said within 2 to 4 years WF will close all operations in Sioux Falls, leaving a couple branches only.
I work in Sioux Falls. Most of Wells Fargo undeliverable mail is returned to Sioux Falls. A team of 100 people processes millions of pieces of returned mail every year. In 2020, Sioux Falls had 4 operation buildings. At the end of 2023, there will be only 1 operation building left. There is phone bankers, executive office, fraud and financial crimes.
"The Sioux Falls data center's future is uncertain due to a COO executives dissatisfaction with its cost, location, and staff. There's talk about building a new facility on the east coast, but it's a costly endeavor..."
All core/regional DC's are slated for closure. The only DC's that will be around are 2 on east cost and 2 in that rather large state that has a cowboy as a mascot for the football team.
I've never been there, but know some people who work there. They're good, hard-working, salt-of-the-earth people who deserve better.
Do you think the cloud is hosted on satellites?
If it's a data center, consider it gone by 2025. They are all going away and I to the cloud. There's also card services in Sioux Falls. You'll notice that your credit and debit cards come from Sioux Falls.
Why build new data centers? Isn’t that what the cloud is for?
No word on bank branches. But, most operations there now will be moved out in 2024. A lot of loyal long term employees will be displaced.
People on here can be such jerks.
The Sioux Falls data center's future is uncertain due to a COO executives dissatisfaction with its cost, location, and staff. There's talk about building a new facility on the east coast, but it's a costly endeavor. Ultimately, the decision rests with the COO leaders. Given the situation's volatility, employees in similar facilities nationwide should keep a close watch on developments.

Which building?
You’d be better off asking your dog that question. The answer would be more accurate than what you’ll get here.
