To him, you're a dime a dozen. What he cares about is how to make as much money for himself as he can before he is inevitably pushed out. That's the only thing he's focused on. Not the future of the company and certainly not the well-being of employees. It's truly that simple.

But by a literal definition employees are actually human captial. Using that term is just being accurate.
Employees are human captial and yes, they are often a built in expense. Unless you are sales, in which case if you hit your goals/above you are a profit.

If you point out how they fudge the financial statements then stock brokers will stay away, the stock price will go down and stankeys options keyed to the stock price will be unexerciseable.
Stankey cares about you. Stankey also cares about the company. He is trying to get both righted. Unfortunately he cannot help everyone.

You just described everyone. People only work, specifically in the private sector, to make money. The goal is to make as much money as possible. No one truly cares about others around them. I should say, we care about others around us so long as caring about them has no impact on how much we personally make.
Tbh I couldn't give less of a fu-k about your or anyone else compared to feeding my family. If YOU lose your job that's not MY problem. Especially, if nothing happens to me.
