Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Strike!✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼

It’s a national issue (not just Wells Fargo). How long before the hourly rank and file wake up and realize we can shut this train wreck down and put an end to Charlie and the C Suite’s constant misdirection, grifting, and outright exploitation of the Wells Fargo brand, it’s shareholders, it’s customer’s, and it’s employees?

We are in the driver’s seat.

They think they’re in charge. They aren’t.

They think they have all the power. They don’t.

We don’t need a union right now to have a voice. We just need to have the will to tell the people at the top of the pyramid scheme that they wouldn’t have what they have if they hadn’t taken it from us. The jig is up. Time to shut it down and end the BS.

Imagine you come to a layoff board where day in and day out people talk about how terrible your employer is and someone posts β€œhey we should try to do something to improve our working conditions” and your first thought is to make fun of them. Like y’all don’t like it here either. You just expect everyone to fix everything for you. The reason nothing changes and everything is terrible is 100% you because you laugh at the efforts to try to make it better. (Or for some reason, are that one guy who turns everything into an issue about DE&I just constantly outing themselves as racist when no one even asked????)

I wish the people who call this job abandonment or say that everyone will get fired would read up on their rights. Under the NLRA you do NOT have to be part of a Union to strike and your job IS protected. They cannot fire you for striking. It’s protected activity. And if they did fire everyone who went on strike, that is the easiest way to get an NLRB strike and have to pay them all back pay and damages. I’m not saying people won’t face consequences because Wells Fargo isn’t exactly known for being ethical but this literal disinformation about your rights is wild.

I think we will need to wait and see. Many former and current employees feel wronged by the impacts of our leadership. There have already been rather large offsite meetings hosted by employees (renting out hotel conference rooms), and info is quietly being passed around and actively discussed. They just recently got someone with experience in this area involved. Seems they are taking this very seriously. Especially, the wage discrimination that has allegedly taken place. I guess equality has really gone out the window(people are not making close to what their predecessors were making, blah blah). Everything has to be done in secret or leadership tries to slip a β€œmole” in and shut These meetings down. This is different than the recent pro union meetings/discussions between employees occuring off wells fargo property.

Put your effort into unionizing, not trying to get all your coworkers fired for striking without a union.

You have zero power. The more you protest, the faster your AI replacement becomes a reality.

Those India jobs will be gone too. It is only a matter of time before executives target them with cheaper AI. It is just a short term move for cost savings.

Eventually you and everyone but the elite will be scraping by on a small UBI while the elite of the wealthy own everything.

No one bothered paying attention to the dystopia authors of the mid 20th century.

The boomers were the generation that could have prevented it. But instead the elites kept them docile with the American dream of consumerism. Each subsequent generation is experiencing the slow suffocation. And we are very close the end.

The final pieces are being put into place while everyone is being distracted by DEI nonsense arguments over promoting men pretending to be women and women pretending to be men or race relations.

Your goal should be to work your way into a salary position with a bonus, not complain about being an hourly worker. Set your goals higher. This is the beauty of a free market system.

Won't happen without professional organization. If you don't realize this, you don't work in a group that deals with producing customer used end products.
