Are they doing away with this group and contracting all this work or...? If so it's unfortunate, I knew some good ones.

I know a guy impacted. It's a real shame, he was good at his job, he went the extra mile, and he was just a solid human being overall. We need more people like him, and less like the cun+s in Hudson Yards.
The problem is that vendors don't give an S. That's the big problem with our current crop of hack execs. They fail to understand that it's impossible to best to competition or reach our collective potential unless a large percentage of your employees truly care about their work. As you see Hudson Yards making all these decisions, do you think they are more or less likely to result in a workforce that cares? Exactly. We are doomed to mediocrity at best, and a slow slide to the company failing at worst. It's completely unsustainable, and these id--ts don't care because they'll be long gone with a boatload of cash.
I was in fts and they canned me 3 months ago. And I helped support a huge site and was constantly busy. The writing was somewhat on the wall. Others got canned earlier or were let go and contractors were hired. They are pretty much going back to the same model they had 12 years ago. Very few boots on the floor, any issues that need a warm body, get a contractor in there. The big wigs feel that techs are no longer needed cause of Horizon Wave, LOL.
Honest question here, but how many long-term successful financial institutions are successful by outsourcing everything they do to an outside company? Honest question, because we know companies like Apple only have about 40,000 US workers but over 500,000 China/India workers by way of Foxconn, for example, and Apple's the most successful company in the world.
Are any other banks or financial service companies actually successful that way however? It just doesn't seem like banking (something very personal and relationship based) can be successful in the same way manufacturing of disposable consumer goods like phones and laptops can be outsourced.
FTS was hit hard on Tuesday......the go forward is to use vendors
