Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

This should be illegal

Share buybacks within a few months of major layoffs should be illegal. If the company claims it has no money to keep employees, then it can't have money to buy back shares. A share buyback is completely optional, and yet there's always money for it. We desperately need good employees, and somehow there's never enough money to keep the best talent.

If Wells Fargo has employees sitting around doing nothing, that's management's fault for not actually allocating work.

"layoffs aren't about whether they have money or not, it's about efficiencies. WF isn't a welfare state. why pay people to sit around and do nothing."

So HR is peaking around on this site again folks!!!!!!!!

It’s 30b over the course of four quarters, similar to all past years, albeit the number is a little higher than previous years.

@kxy+1nNijjaV. It is. The people that do nothing end up staying or pushing out the ones that do well.

It’s one thing to do a 5 billion buyback but $30? Do they really have that kind if money?

A better question is "why spend billions on office buildings for no reason?"
