I'll save time for all those who think nothing happened this week. 5k+ user accounts. Toss 50% for natural attrition, death, retirement, erroneous accounts, etc etc. 2500 in 2 days is still quite a lot even if Wells overall head count is 230k+. Over 7k zz'd since mid-June.
New HR policy has anyone taking PTO for 2 weeks or more going to zz, so not all your zz are layoffs

7/24-7/25 Iowa layoffs are false. Look at the state’s updated WARN list. When WF laid off 25 earlier this year, it was reported, yet nothing reported for last week.

There's some trolls that post in every 5th thread here claiming that layoffs aren't actually happening or that it's only a handful of people being fired for cause.
That's clearly false, the article makes it clear it's 5000 in 1H-2023 and 40,000 since 2020. Also "fired for cause" doesn't get you a 60 day notice and severance package. There's just a lot of disinformation that gets posted here denying what is clearly true.

FANTASTIC article below as it confirms that layoffs are happening by the thousands. The wording in the article is 5000 layoffs at Wells (tied with Citi as the most of any bank) just in the first half. So that means the 5000 doesn't even include the larger than average July layoffs and we have seen strong rumors that August will be the broadest cuts of the year.
I don't think it's unreasonable that if they laid off 5000 in the first half they can easily cut another 5000 in the second half and maybe even more than that. It's still shocking to me that trolls keep visiting this board and claiming that layoffs are "fake news" or just aren't happening.
The layoffs are clearly happening, and they're deepest at companies like Wells Fargo.

Keep your ears open during each quarterly earnings call, and follow what you can in the news. It seems very quiet, with other companies layoffs masking Wells so it can fly below radar somewhat, I think.
People are in zy status during their 60 day notice period and their profile status will say “on leave”. Once the 60 day notice period is over, they will be switched to zz status and their entire profile eventually gets deleted within a month or so.
Zz happens as soon as they push the button. I was RIF’d yesterday. My access removed within a hour. My packet of information came via email later yesterday and overnight. My team is in different parts of the country. 8 of 9 were displaced. They could only find a place for 1 person. Boy, did they pick the wrong one.

@qbp - doesn't it depend on whether it's a working 60 days or non-working 60 days? I would guess if it were non-working you'd get zz'ed right away. I also know someone who did 30 days working and 30 days non-working and they got zz'ed as soon as their non-working days started.
