Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

lurkers who left..

if you went to another financial institution and are still posting here- could you share where you went? I've been looking for awhile and my base is over 200k so it's slim opportunities for that salary plus being remote. One's like SVB and USAA are no more.

appreciate insights.

Op here. I’m in risk management and have 15+ years experience. Not looking to relocate for a role. So looking for companies that are open to other locations or offer remote.

Went to truist, and the grass was not greener. The same lip service from execs, 3 day rto, no processes or strategy and the technology is so ancient its a joke. Did get a nice pay bump but at a cost. Never thought I'd miss WF so much

I cashed in my 401(k) and “bought” a new job. Purchased a campground/cabin resort. Paid about $300k out of pocket, seller financed $200k and I borrowed the rest on an SBA loan. Made $265k in SDE the first year after some significant capital reinvestment. On track to bring home $600k+ this year. Best job I ever had, only work about 30 hours a week now. There are tons of profitable small businesses for sale that can usually be had for about 2-3 times SDE. Just take your time, do your due diligence and hire a CPA and attorney to help you make sure it’s a good deal. It was far easier than I expected and was the best decision of my life.

It’s difficult to help without knowing your role and location. Are you willing to move? Are you tech, or a mortgage consultant? Are you looking for more money, or a better culture? I don’t know too many $200k/year professionals who use the term “legit difficult.”

Not a fake post- literally one person said where they went (Citi). It would be nice if people would share what actual companies they like and had good paid. I’m the OP and actually make more than 200k, not a brag, it’s legit difficult to find roles that pay over 200k not office based in sf/nyc.

This has the aroma of a fake post. Opening title unfriendly, didn’t elaborate beyond bragging about base salary, hasn’t come back to engage with comments….fake.

Went to an investment firm. Got a modest salary bump, slightly smaller bonus. Much better benefits. Fully remote.

I’ve decided they all stink, same toxic leadership. Would y’all like Mani and Katherine back? Because they sure screwed up their current company.

I’ll never go back to BOA. These big banks are all the same

I am wondering if anyone went to BofA from WF and if the work culture is any better? Money?

I am at Citi, currently. Pay is way better. Wells low balled me.

Personally I’m in risk management. I left a few years ago for more money but not at a stable company unfortunately. Looking for a better opportunity!

Navy Federal CU, matched salary, bonus 20 percent higher, PTO a few days less but not big deal, remote job (these are few and far between for NFCU, but there are some). Difference is night and day…
