Got my letter today. Job moving to Dallas and must report by 12/31/2023. No relocation. Have to accept or decline by August 4th. If you decline, on a surplus list with the letter coming late September. Off payroll early October.

Stop wasting your time complaining about moving. If you don't/can't move starting looking for a new job in your location. Face the facts and move on.
@pxv+1nHSvbP6, be thankful you still see the sun tomorrow and that the anonymity is hiding you, you pc of shiete.
Moving for this company would not be wise. You are likely to completely uproot your life and then soon be laid off afterwards.
OP, what is your role in Mass Markets?
Texas is not all that bad if you can stay out of Dallas and the entire summer is total cr-p.
“Can only imagine the effort they’re going to get between now and Oct from those that aren’t moving. Which of course is most.”
This is the main reason RTO is happening. The level of productivity has been low for years.
Texas was just recently rated the worst state to live in days ago. They were second last year but managed to overtake Arizona this year.
All the newsmax watching right wing drones can defend Texas all they want but no one wants to live there. It’s an awful place to live, work and especially raise a family.
“Then why is everyone leaving California and moving to Texas?”
They aren’t. Turn off Newsmax and do some actual research you mindless tw-t.
Dallas huh? Well, if you can and you want your job, move and rent. You will need a boat and golf clubs or you won't really have anything to do. It's hot...really hot. But at least it's humid and your skin stay's moist. You will need to get used to bug spray. You can go to a Cowboys game for just under $1200 for 2. There are some old amusement parks.
“Texas is a literal s -hole. Good luck attracting talent to move to that garbage state. This company is beyond doomed“

Reading these comments made me realize how many employees won’t consider moving to Texas for political reasons. That actually is a bright spot in all this. Less Democrats at work.
Don't mess with Texas!!
They won’t have till December to leave. A few weeks after Aug 4th will be their end date
What city do you live in now ?
@fxa -
OP didn’t say they had to move by October. They said end of year. October is when they go off payroll if they are NOT going to accept.
“So work until December. Circumstances change”
Really poor advice. If you’re off payroll October/November with a six month severance versus getting an extra month and a half pay and no severance. See you leave in five months severance on the table? That’s really stupid advice.
This company is such a disaster. Layoffs happening now, probably next month, definitely more before the year ends and they have no clue how many will leave due to RTO. This company is dead but just doesn’t know it yet.
OP here. Under Scarborough. I’m declining the offer. Taking severance and finding a new opportunity!
So what are you going to opt for, OP?
Hey @pxv+1nHSvbP6: Hope Karma treats you right. A-s wipe.
Would love to know who didn't follow the rules and wait until Friday morning to send the letters.
"Oh sure, that's more than enough time to sell your home, try and find new housing, get your kids set up in a new school, de-couple your current life and start brand new."
You should have already made a decision on moving. You've had months to make plans and get your house in order.
Who are you under in mass markets? I am at mass market too and we have one year to get to Dallas.
I’m sure it’s nice to finally have an official letter with clarity on your choices and location.
Meanwhile, the rest of us are waiting in anticipation for our Red letter, expecting the worst scenario. RTO is not the real issue, it’s the new designation to serve our purpose, no matter how asinine. Pass the peanut butter!
Move to Dallas by October?
Oh sure, that's more than enough time to sell your home, try and find new housing, get your kids set up in a new school, de-couple your current life and start brand new in a truly horrible city in an even worse state and hope against hope that four months after you relocate you aren't then let go in one of the endless reorgs.
Why wouldn't you do it?
Moving, opening presents, or a job? You make the call.
Wow, can only imagine the effort they’re going to get between now and Oct from those that aren’t moving. Which of course is most. Yup those KPI metrics will be through the roof!
Best of luck!
SBC has always had a Happy Holidays and wishing you a Merry Christmas Layoff, since they took over and grew the DeathStar.
curious if your new destination is in webphone already?
OP here. Mine has not been updated. Still the same
curious if your new destination is in webphone already?
Ugh. On top of everything else, the timing is horrible. If folks do relocate, between moving, the holidays and lay offs, who will be working in December?
