Surprise AVP visit

Wondering if any offices have experienced surprise AVP visits. Brookfield, WI, currently has a complete surprise visit from Exa Whiteman underway.

Have other offices experienced similar visits?

All the AVPs I know still work from home and sometimes come to an office for a townhall or, change their backgrounds if they don’t want to drive in. I hope this exa type comes to our salt mine and pretends she cares and is listening. Does she really have a group that makes sausage?

I love the PowerPoints that still use Cingular template colors

Wow some really angry types that feel a quick call from the family are for hours and they should be fired. Are you aware EAP is a free benefit and your coworkers might see the difference afterwards? Maybe your family left you as well with all this angry?

Good old fashioned bed checks. They are checking to see who showed up. Soon they will start tossing the cells for contraband.

AVP? According to her Linkedin, she's been promoted twice since then and is now a VP.

I wish they would. The grass at my workplace is knee high and has gone to seed

Nobody ever visits where I work. I haven’t even seen a director of any kind in ten years.

@jbt+1nGZxiiZ If those employees who use company phone spending hours every day talking loudly with their family in their motherland language without giving consideration of the presence of their neighbors, not only will that make her unhappy, it will make all surrounding people sitting next to these people unhappy and unproductive, too. I don't feel bad to see these people get fired.

I meant to mention those Power Points start at 2nd levels putting them together and then go through a Director review prior to going to the AVP. Then the VP, if approved to the SVP. About three weeks of work full time for many to pull together every month.

How many AT&T employees are located there? Is it a call center?

They approve Power Points that go to the VP that then go to the SVP. It is a three week process with many meetings in between.

She informed us we make sausage. Evidently you don’t know what you do.

Another token promotion. She is clueless how to accurately answer any questions related to the group she has. Please note I didn’t use the word “lead”. We were told the surprise was to find employees on their phones speaking with families which would make her unhappy because it’s how clueless managers work since she isn’t able to help, understand what we do or help.

She has been doing unannounced visits to her offices since last year.
