Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Is it possible...

... that this lead issue is a distract from other issues, like the RTO, and actual layoffs? For example, the undersea fiber cables are encased with a pretty thick layer of lead shielding, and nobody talks about it.

Lead comes from the ground and is now in the ground formed as a cable sheath. If it gets removed it will be placed back in the ground at a dump site. It’s a nothingburger. Unless it is a meteor, everything on earth came from the earth. You can’t make it disappear.

Distract the people from general incompetence by focusing on a less incompetent issue. Sort of how the Biden-Harris administration operates. The media seems to ignore their consistent foulups so they might be into something…

"...undersea fiber cables are encased with a pretty thick layer of lead shielding..."

Nope. Stranded steel. Not lead.

The Pb story is meant to drive the stock price down to lower the purchase price. I know of at least one purported suiter that controls a major news paper.

Undersea fiber optic cables have lead and steel in their protective sheaths. This is not the same cable that is buried or aerial in the united states.

Fiber is not encased in lead... Lead was only used on copper to keep the elements out of the copper wire... Fiber could honestly care less about the elements, but it has a plastic/rubberized coating.

Go look at the story before you just spew nonsense.

Why does it have to be one or the other?

All three are major issues:
Abandoned lead cables are bad.
RTO is layoff is disguise.
Layoffs in general are bad for us.
