Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Make it make sense, new CISO (Overseeing CSO) is located in Dallas while 80% of CSO Org is assigned to Atlanta.

How does that make sense? how does an organizational leader get to be in Dallas when 80% of his org is assigned to Atlanta?

Not even close to 80% in Atlanta. CSO is in NJ, ATL, Dallas and St Louis for the most part, some in Chicago and others sprinkled in are a small %.

Likely in the end if you are not customer facing, meaning you go to the actually customer location for servicing or selling and you're seat is not in Dallas today, expect to be laid off or required to relocate in the next 2-5 years as the push is to move as much as possible to Texas as it is very business friendly. Texas is ranked very low for employees but great for business. They also have a great work force pool so plenty of fresh meat to run through the grinder.

So he doesn’t have to manage them in person on a day to day basis…

@lei+1nFVRIxj according to leg and Rexroad, who was the next highest in CSO, within 18-24 months all of CSO will be in ATL.

Actually more than half of them are TWs. So will they be firing most of those and starting over?

Does not make sense, since the whole unit will be offloaded to Accenture

Might want to check your numbers. 80% of CSO is not in Atlanta.

Location decisions aren’t based on people. They are based exclusively on position. The CEO is always going to want the CISO to be located by his or her side at HQ.
