You were smart enough to get hired here.
You will be hired somewhere else.
Dependent on how invested with time and lifestyle with working at Cisco; it may be a big emotionally painful adjustment.
Growth and change IS painful. Embrace the change. Be proud you lasted this long.
It's just business.
There will be lots more tough changes in this life; so this is just hopefully one more in a series of many more, for a long life.
For a long life, one must navigate change at all times, and distance yourself from wallowing through self pity. Crud happens. Last time, it was my turn. This time it is yours.
Embrace it. The LR was the best lesson I learned from Cisco. It opened many new doors. It mostly taught me not too take a career too seriously. If you are taking it too seriously, maybe time to scale back. Stop chasing money, if that is one of your primary drivers.
Maybe it will be yours too.
