Sure, but it was free. Also, if someone had sold it to Hudson Yards as being nothing more than a 'mind game' they definitely would have retained it. They LOVE subjecting their employees to mind games.

If you work for a company, you are an employee…not a “team member”. TM is a construct that “firms” use to play mind games with employees - creating “imputed psychological income” - I.e. you drink the kool aid and believe that you somehow matter more than your contractual obligation.
"the firm" is a waste of money, they changed and updated a lot of documents to use the new verbiage for absolutely no benefit. Seriously, where is the business case? It does nothing for us. I'm not offended by the word, but I definitely judge anyone at WF using it. It's code for "I'm a cuck for charlie".
Who cares what they call us? It’s all just weak management doing the opposite of whatever the previous guy did.
If we had been called employees before Charlie we would be team members now.

Demoralizing psychological tactics are often the we-pon of choice of those with the weakest position. Management knows that they’re the cheerleaders of an ethically flawed system, so they wrap themselves in corporate speak and gaslit rhetoric to distract the rank and file from the fact that leadership is inept and I’ll suited to their roles. “Leaders” at Wells Fargo suffer from a shared flaw. They all have the desire to lead, but they lack the temperament and aptitude to be fair and effective. Those of us who have the aptitude, but no desire, marvel at their ineffectiveness. It’s truly amazing that the bank hasn’t collapsed yet like the house of cards that it is.
We shouldn't use the word company either. Can't say bank because there are non bank subsidiaries.

"Team" is the term actually being used to control you and imply that there's some group effort there benefitting everyone, and not just lining Charlie and the shareholders' pockets from your work. And the "firm" does just sound more professional and is pretty standard across the industry. This is such a bizarre hill to die on and why people rightfully ridicule you.
