Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T will most likely disappear by end of 2024

Evaluating the company numbers, assets, debts, liabilities, cash flow, and network and services situation
Add to it a long line of class lawsuits with the new scandal
This company will not find a buyer or bail out , it is just too much risk for any investor to take it, and the market will let it resolve and disappear quietly over the next few months

I feel sorry for the employees who will lose the most

I suggest to do the following asap
1- sell your T stocks and diversify
2- cash out your pension
3- if you qualify for severance take it, this may not be available in 6 months from now

It is sad to see AT&T ending this way, but put you and your family first, T is just a business and trust me JS and BOD are protected, worry about yourself only

So many people that know so much about AT&T's future, yet they can't really run anything besides bad anonymous posts on this site. Ha.

Speak up "
Yes and maybe those stock c-suite options might not be profitably utilized.

I would like to commend the BOD, C Suite Management and all leadership of each Business Unit for the incredible feat and full execution of total incompetence. It is truly amazing the demonstrated skill needed to pull off this amazing feat. First, you had to replicate to an incestuous level a morally corrupt totally lacking in any subject matter expertise individual. Then acquire and push out the highly trained and skilled professional work force developed over decades. Then bend to the WOKE crowd with the addition to leadership based on diversity (skin color) at the expense of Merit. The speed and efficiency is to which you have driven this once Blue Blood Corporation to the bottom is one for the Case Study books. Congratulations are certainly in order.

  1. You are bad at personal finance if you kept more than 5% of your portfolio in one company.
  2. Of course.
  3. That's why we're sticking around.

A layoff at this juncture of my life would be welcome:
Severance.
Welfare.
ObamaCare.

I plan on taking back what I've put in.

His arrogance will be his downfall, but will sadly take the hangers on with him. He will land softly due to his golden parachute. Others will be ruined. The only ones who can save this place are bailing out as fast as they can. The time to walk away is now. It takes guts and determination but you can do it! Leave this mess behind and take your dignity and hit the road. The signs are all there. Don’t be a fool. Go now.

I guess we don’t know what decision JS and BOD will come up with on Monday after the cleanup news, and class lawsuits, the ship is sinking faster than JS thought

T still has plenty of cash flow, but changes will have to be made. If the stock price drops much lower it actually gives a great excuse to cut the dividend again to make the yield lower. Because of the heavy involvement of black rock already I could see them buying enough shares to exert more control over the company. I don’t think T completely disappears, but it is going to have many years to recover. Stephenson and Stankey will be remembered for the T lost years.

No one know if T will still exist by end of the year

If price war start with other service providers with the economy slow down, this will even drag the cash flow to a new low, BOD will keep the dividend high no matter how short the cash flow to keep the life support for T
This mean more debt and more liabilities
There is no way around it, T is so toxic no one will buy it or take it

You are wrong about at&t not going anywhere. The valuation is imbalanced due to the debt load. Add to it the litigation that is coming, the union contracts expiring next year, the competition - with a much lower cost structure, and all the other factors at play.....if you can't see the writing on the wall you are a mo--n. You do not need a business analyst, shark tank guru, or madam cleo to see where the dumpster fire is headed.

Toxic T will continue to function until the Stink cannot extort another dime.

The cash flow is not enough to pay for dividends and liabilities
The debt will keep mounting and this $65bn of cleanup and possibly tons of class lawsuits will bring AT&T to its end very quickly

If auditors look they will see fancy accounting where other companies put up capital for our network build and we disguised it in deals to give them a certain amount of volume.
Then we shift to another deal and markets have to stop builds and use new “best deal”

No one ever sees how / if these deals ever make it to the balance sheet. Tricky business.

In Finance & I say if investors wanted look deeper they’d find a lot of accounting concerns on balance sheet and obligations of construction build money to so many companies —like a shell game…
Hard to follow…on purpose

The company has good cash flow, but the debt and significant number of outstanding shares are a drain.
As TMobile puts the hard press on pricing, T has to keep pace and that will only complicate matters as the need to pay down the debt increases.
Firstnet will keep the company from disaster because the govt won’t allow that to fold.
What might happen is spinoff mobility, wireline and fiber. Then load wireline up with as much debt as possible and let it collapse.
