Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Know we know…

All of the positive survey results that came out year after year. It all makes sense now. These numbers have been severely skewed in a positive direction by those in jobs working from home, doing very little work, and getting paid very well for doing nothing . Now that the tide has turned with RTO people are losing their minds. Can’t wait to see all of the whining and crying in future surveys.

Everyone is happy as long as they get to do what they want vs working for the company.

A large percentage of the employees at ATT couldn’t find a job anywhere else.

It’s always the few that took advantage of the lax oversight of WFH to mess it up for over 95% that we’re more productive. When confronted with their bad behavior they automatically played the race card and we were picking on them cause they were black. We work in a culture that doesn’t want bad PR and prefers to bury the facts to avoid a court case.

RE: “Can't brag about watching TV, doing chores and playing videos games on the clock anymore. Oh, and saving money on gas and time with zero commute.”

I go into office every day. The sound of ‘tudum’ (Netflix) can be heard throughout the day. People are balancing checkbooks, making personal appointments or calling friends on work hours. Others are on smartphones playing games or watching tik tok.

Explain to me why exactly the WFH are doing wrong? Because it’s in the office too. You all need to stop complaining and start working.

“ for doing nothing”

I’m doing less in the office now. They get 9-5 and I take my lunch now. Not to mention the constant interruptions and how difficult conference calls are with everyone around you also on conference calls. But hey, whatever. 9-5 now, no more working extra or taking calls after hours, answering emails or any of that. No more waking up checking my phone to see what happened overnight. That waits until I drive into the office, find a place to sit or kick someone out of the place I reserved and can login. Just wait until everyone is back in the office and see how much less is getting done.

A large majority of people that claim to work from is nothing short of stealing. They know it! That’s why they get soooo bu-t hurt on these silly message boards

Time for these lame everyone gets a trophy folks to take a long hard look in the mirror.

The OP who’s mad about WFH didn’t get the chance to do it so they’re upset with those who did but they would be the one WFH doing nothing so they ASSume that’s what everyone else did. Same troll always saying get back to work, when we gave the company more time at home than in the office, what a tool! Commenting they can’t wait to see the whining etc., probably won’t be around long enough to see it before they’re laid off! Better focus on your own job that could be outsourced any day. Being in the office won’t guarantee you a job. We’re all a step away from the job fair

Any pro-RTO posters are HR stooges, trolls or wannabe corporate sycophants! The whole deal is an utter fiasco & a total ruse.

Or maybe people didn't trust the "anonymous" surveys and didn't want to give low rating in fear of retaliation

You are a complete id--t. I have worked from home for over a decade. I work more from my house than I ever would if I had to commute to an office. I am a top performer and always have been. Perhaps the pandemic caused lazy wfh people but those of us who have been doing it for years are not lazy and can easily find another job outside of this shithole company.

Very little work when wfh, LMAO. First, I go into the office more than I wfh, did so all thru the pandemic. But days when I have an extra difficult task, I'm likely to stay home where I'm uninterrupted and put the drive time, plus more, into the project. Now I may unload my dishwasher or throw a roast in the oven, taking a break to clear my head. But if I were in office, I'd probably end up in a conversation that lasted twice as long.

Some may take advantage of wfh, but there are plenty of lazy in office people too.

This clown must be in corporate strategy, sharing just a glimpse of what “they” work on as they are “groomed”. Always sad to see someone with potential waste their career waiting and hoping. Wake Up Call don’t wait for T to change the Severance rules an F you all. Go take a job in a pay range that is close before the market gets flooded with able bodies. BEAD funding has created opportunities for everyone outside of T. It will not be awarded in abundance to companies with massive debt with a history of not fulfilling large contracts. Take your LIFE back!

Most of these wfh employees will to need to hire a nanny and gardner to keep up with the house chores and lawn now that they can no longer do it on the company dime.

Bonuses are tied to survey results. How would you expect employees to answer? For the next survey, they might not care!
