GE would beg to differ, having spent a few billion to dig up half the Hudson River's bed and now being bullied into looking at the other half.
Aside from that aspect, I guarantee that right now every big ambulance chaser law firm in the country is holding strategy meetings on this, figuring how to find "victims."
This isn't going away; it will cost $ and cause reputational harm.
The good news is this could replace those annoying Camp LeJeune ads on TV.
Have you seen the amount of contamination that exists up in Michigan from PFAS due to the auto industry? With the amount of lead used in hunting and fishing over the years there is no way this can be placed solely on AT&T. At least in the PFAS situation they know exactly who was responsible.
Stop it, the government (citizens) are the ones on the hook. Lead has been used in many products with all the governments agencies aware and regulating it since the beginning. If they deem it is a hazard case by case, they will address it. I’m sure the government will eventually remove old abandoned cables in lakes, rivers or other water sources.
It’s like saying all the oil companies and automobile manufacturers are liable for having lead in gasoline for nearly 75 years +. Lead paint, Fishing tackle (lead weights), ammo (lead bullets), toys, water pipes, etc…. The list goes on and on.
The lead issue is massive. It could be like Erin brokovich big. It could actually be the end of T or at least their ability to pay their debts.
If you want to be a naysayer, imagine your children or your niece or nephew has been drinking lead tainted water all this time because that’s the reality for some.
