I've kept reading about possible layoffs in SPS for a while and it's stressed me out for moths. Will SPS (specifically scanning) be hit?

I hope so. My new starting position begins in the fall. Would be nice to get a going away bonus from Honeywell.
Big sh1t coming down the chute, hold on tight this Fall it is going to get real nasty. You will start to see the picture forming soon if not this month. It will start with sporadic furloughs!

I can't recommend enough NA SPS employees start at least preparing your resume/work just in case. Best to always be prepared ;)
I've had multiple night meetings with the SPS leadership teams in Singapore. The sh!t will be hitting the fan soon enough in Q3. All across SPS. They are not waiting, and not shy with the new guy in town, trying to make a splash. With our jobs. Ugh.
We've got mid year evaluations going on, so I expect anything new will come after that. I hoping that I f' it up enough to get chosen. Good luck to you!
I don’t know much about other SPS departments but AST especially legacy HGAS is a mess. Managers are the worst.

Q3 begins soon when the rumored crunch begins, anyone else sense the tension in their team. We have already lost a third of our already small team and now there is a lot of infighting and knives out with the remaining few of us. It is simply horrible. All the projects we work on are a mess and our two directors just keep their game faces on whilst hiding in their offices. I am super stressed, we already lost so many projects to China and Mexico :(
SPS is in a very deep hole created by JW. Many of our customers are very disappointed in Honeywell's performance and are now working with other vendors. Even though SPS offers top notch products, we can't deliver on time nor price. We are very much starting from ground zero going forward. I don't feel that Honeywell is committed.
@1jlq+1n7Ar0sI You are not wrong, SPS isn't going anywhere, hasn't been for a long time except maybe down the drain. You can not tell anyone they are safe in SPS with a straight face. Lets discuss this later in the year. It won't be long before the cat is out of the bag ;)

@1opy+1n7Ar0sI It is already run like that, has been for the last few years. Very little margin to squeeze now and they lost all the development brains and knowledge in SPS. Product development has been a dirty word for some time, the highly underqualified president of the business group I was in literally sneered and dismissed me when I told her that our biggest problem was no investment in new product development. I quit a month after that.
Ever since SPS got some of em' AERO guys leading teams, one would be surprised that there are no plant closures, furloughs and other cost cutting measures in order to maintain margin. Its the 'AERO' thing to do and they do it best without putting in any thought about innovating and growing the business instead. Thats how they have been keeping such healthy margins but only for the short run. Whatever used to happen in AERO will now, begin to happen in SPS.
You are always at risk for a layoff at Honeywell. It’s used as a budget management tool across all functions. No one is safe, unless you’re part of senior leadership.
I recall other posts mentioning the project Lumberjack. Seems the end date for that hasn't come yet, but it's not good for SPS scanning. Run Forrest run!

May I ask, what dep are you in?
There are cuts happening all over. No one knows for sure. Not a great answer but just the truth.
I do not mean this in a nasty way at all, but you can answer this one. Are your sales up or down? Typically during a blood letting (I am including furloughs too) every group in a division feels some pain. How much pain you feel is based on your sales...
I hope some one can provide some thoughts on this too, I am i the same group and also worried.
