Our group was asked to start RTO in March. I had been remote for 10+ years so It was rough at first but I like it now. I leave my house at 7:30am, listen to Stern driving in, and usually arrive at 9-9:30. I spend 20 minutes configuring my work station for the day so everything’s working. I’m always in a difficult spot each day and the equipment never seems to work. Always missing cables, monitors purposely sabotaged, missing parts, etc… Then I work until 11am and go to lunch, which is usually running errands, then back to the sweat shop environment until 3:30. I then get home around 5. My productivity has gone from truly working 60 hours a week remotely down to maybe 30. Ironically enough, I’m working much less now and my stress is lower. I don’t take calls in the morning driving in, and none driving home. By the time I get home I’m in a great mood from listening to Stern or another comedy channel. Life is good now
