Big Surplus coming Mid June

Atleast 15000 folks will be laid off by end of June. Hearing it from multiple sources.

The only people needing to report in Sept ,3x per week, are those near a hub which is not Dallas or Atlanta. Wave 1 people not near a hub , who are offered their position in a new location, need to be at the new office in January. No one is going to be asked to move their family and report to a new location by September. Unless perhaps you happen to be an executive- otherwise make sure to talk to your supervisor and don’t panic.

Legg’s org
Relocation to Dallas
Current location wfh/San Ramon
Starting date on new location sept 4
Notification date June 5th
Answer within two weeks

This does’t sound right. San Ramon is Waive 2 for Legg. Per QA you should get relocation notice closer to the move e.g in 18-24 months.

In my office alone more than a 1000 employees received the RTO letter this week alone, many won’t move"

How are you able to know the number?

Can you identify at least the org you are talking about? I keep seeing these posts about people receiving RTO letters and not one post has provided any details as to the org, etc. Our org has received nothing.

Agree - not a single one has even the least bit of detail. There is so much to share for the benefit of others.

  • current local and relo locale
  • last date on payroll
  • how long to respond with your decision
  • date to report to new locale
  • details about pay if you geo locale changed

…on and on…the same questions the folks posting this would have

About 60 thousands will be relocated, I would assume 20% won’t relocate and accept the severance package
That is 12000 already

My director knows I am looking to get the surplus so confirmed with me that I really want it. Notification on 6/22 and off payroll 7/6, with six month severance.

"getting rid of employees who make 150k a year and up to just show up and not add any value to company."

Careful there, you're likely to get your wish. What do you think that says about your future? You good if they just pay you peon wages until you are too old to be useful and then you'll just live on SS and cat food? You know, since you never made enough to save anything?

You might want to realize that this isn't about you vs me. It's about you vs a future version of you. The company's shifting view of the employees it wants to have is going to hurt future you.

Young me worked very hard for low wages; old me works less hard but smarter for nice wages. I've balanced it out same as those before me.

So carry on with the class warfare, but realize, you are fighting yourself.

It was from CEO interview: this year he expects to reduce head count by 15k. Not in June.

This is not new

And AT$T will not have to pay any severance to about half of them.

plus whole bunch more quit because of relocation. That's lots of people, about 20% cut in total.
