Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Censored?

Twice now I have tried to relay info from the Service Delivery call and twice my post has not been posted. Not sure why. I did not violate any rules. Is it because it included a verbatim quote from the VP where she says that this initiative is not about cost cutting but about getting back into the office?

Weird what gets flagged on here. Noticed a thread talking about stupid office pranks got deleted.

I saw the Q&A session SD had, everything here is accurate. Another point I heard was, people should not relocate to Dallas assuming that’s where their job is going. Certain Roles are moving and selected people will be given the opportunity to relocate for these jobs. However they didn’t say Everyone would be given that opportunity. I suspect there are some that will be left without a chair when the music stops. For example, maybe your role is eliminated or moved to India hub. They didn’t say this but I would not be surprised if that’s what happens. Also the VP said at least 3 or 4 times this was about collaborating, with a beautiful smile, like selling it was her sole purpose of the call.

So, between the original post and the replies, I have gotten everything posted that was in my one nicely put together post that was not posted. The only thing not yet said is that no one is buying the bullsh*t that leadership is selling about collaboration.

SD is working on a list of “spoke” locations in addition to the 9 corporate hubs - to be “published soon”.

Three groups/timeslines:

  1. Dallas and Atlanta designations on 6/30 with early July in office
  2. 7/31 communication re: 7 other hub locations
  3. specific communications for those not impacted by the first two scenarios

The stupidity of anyone believing going back to office makes everyone more productive is mind boggling.

Other notes from call:

If designated location is over 50 miles, will qualify for severance.

Others notes:

Per Josh - as of 6/6, not one single person in all of SD is designated virtual.

OP here - after being asked what leadership is doing to reduce costs, Josh from HR spoke about the $15 billion commitment by year end and how every penny counts. Then VP says “ this initiative isn’t for cost cutting purposes, it truly is around getting ourselves back in the office working together again”.
