Has anyone heard anything more on the return to work plans? It seems like there was a lot of talk about it after the last town hall and then nothing.
No directives, no policies, no conversations even. What's the plan on all the main offices they were focusing on???
Time to call Stanley's bluff! If he is serious about RTO, make everyone come in five days a week. For those with no office space, make Stankey lease space in any cities needed. Most cities have mega space available for lease!
Might as well tell all employees, if you wanna come back into the office, come back. If you don't wanna come back, just telecommute.

Hopefully all the company owned buildings have been sold off. Most were sold for pennies on the dollar. Any company would find it difficult at best to unload commercial buildings in today's environment. I just wish we could have unloaded all the central office buildings. They will be difficult to unload in the future.
Was informed that the call center in Mesa, AZ has everybody reporting into the building now that the fake pandemic is over. There is a new training class just hired and all being trained on company prem. They might as well utilize that building since they invested over $20M rehabbing it to modernize it! It makes perfect sense to have all those people reporting back to the office!

I heard the announcement will be Tuesday. 1-3 days a week (meaning 1 day for most) and if there is no space, like in central NJ, you will not have to come in until there is enough space. So it sounds like not too bad if minimum is 1 day a week. Going to be tricky in Dallas as T got rid of a garage. Figure in about a year from now, less people and everyone will be back in the office like before the fake pandemic
In Atlanta they have someone walking around with a clip board still checking for attendance, i’m in the office every day and I roll my eyes because I’m thinking to myself, this is your job? who’s redundant now? personally, I don’t care if you come in or not the less that come in the better because it gets too noisy here in Atlanta and it becomes a big party where everyone’s is cracking jokes and not a lot working done. it’s really difficult to hold a straight face while on the phone with upset customers and you got people in the background cracking it up.
This morning, my Area manager reached out to advise office location is being updated for me due to upcoming RTO roll out as I did relocate but they still show old work location.
What’s the big deal about going to the office 3 days/week? I guess you could quit and find another job that will allow full remote but that is changing by the day as well at other companies. Be thankful for your paycheck and the fact that a lot of us do not have to work very hard for it.

There is not enough room for RTO so a surplus will be needed to make space. If your office is short 20 spaces you can expect that many to be declared surplus.

Heard today an announcement will be made next week, maybe Monday, most people will be made “office worker” and require min 3 days in the office. If you can’t do that, you need to make a choice (meaning quit and find a new job).
If office space is limited, T should pursue commercial telework space for groups of local employees. This is a cheap option.

If they can't dump the office, perhaps because it is owned, they'll want to use it. But, I would guess that they are letting many leases expire.
There is still a lot of talk within Townes org. as this guy is unable invent anything meaningful except "the office is the key". He bothers all his VPs with RTO "discussions" regularly and wants to force all people to be productive as a team in own separated cubicles.
Policies are created to be ignored. AT&T could never enforce any policy.
This will be a haphazard rule, every VP will implement their own rules. This could result in less than 25% actually returning to the office. Nobody cares about the restaurants in the nieborhoods. Let them go belly up.

RTO at at&t is just like all other projects and processes, an adjunct failure. I've never known of any project to get completed successfully.

It's handled differently in various orgs. I'm min 2 days a week, others are back to permanent office 4 days a week. No blanket policy.

Utter cr-p! This is a blanket statement and is so obviously untrue as to barely need recognition. If you need an update, ask your manager.
Some Orgs are back full time, because they were full time before Covid.
Other Orgs were not full time before COVID and are asked to come in 1-3 days per week.
A lot depends on the available real estate where you are at. We went from 36 floors of real estate in my city, down to about 4, with about 40 spaces for drop in. 40 drop in spaces cannot accommodate 1000 employees every day.

I'd be more concerned with having a job you get to report to instead of where you are reporting for said job.
Flex office worker status eliminated. You are either in office or virtual. For my group most of us were made virtual because we are not in hubs or co located.
Being handled differently for each org. My org all those in hubs status updated to in office and must go in 3 days a week. All non hub workers status updated to virtual and should go in 1 day a week as often as possible.
The policy for FOW (flex office worker) has been 2-3 days per week for going on one year now. Leadership has pulled badge swipes and they were very disappointed in the lack of folks coming into the office. New policy letter in the coming weeks, no mater what your OI is, will be required to RTO 4 days a week at your listed work location in WebPhone. Weekly reporting will be generated. For those that fail to meet the minimum 4 days will be considered a performance matter subject to discipline up to and including dismissal.
