To relieve cashflow, mgt. severance payments may be spread out over a period of six months instead of a lump sum.

Don’t be shocked if management severance allocations are being revisited. I don’t remember when they reduced it from 12 months to 6 months (prob 10 years ago) but you can bet they are either looking at less months payout, or tougher qualifying guidelines (more years of service, reduced percentage of salary) to get a higher amount.
