Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Why won't they?

Answer pointed questions in town halls? Why have town halls if they will not be honest and candid? Most leaders have shifted to prescripted questions, I find that to be disingenuous.
Town hall meetings = Waste of life

Stankey would have you on your knees begging if this wasn't an anonymous forum.

"And if less sycophants such as yourself ..."

Fewer.

The execs hold these pointless propaganda sessions because putting on a performance is more important and easier than actually accomplishing something.

Just look at our current congress. Instead of actually trying to solve very real problems, the current batch of liars in the House are all engaged in performance politics rather than accomplishing a damn thing.

But they do it because the performance is more important than the result. By making all this noise and conducting their theater they keep their base happy. So if their base prefers theater to results, then theater it is.

With T the townhalls are exactly the same. Sure, rank-and-file folks hate it, but the BoD thinks Stink is a proactive communicator, so they love it.

Meanwhile, who suffers?

Talk about out of touch with reality…. I’ve never seen the number of employees that live and work in such a protective cocoon and have no idea of the reality around them.

Because they are cowards.

No, a coward indicates a lack of courage. "Leadership" has demonstrated much more dangerous psychological traits of narcissism, vanity and maladaptive coping, as He (Stankey) blames his failures on the work force for not executing his plan.

He and his sycophants are who we are dealing with when we try to make a positive effort. Learn who you are dealing with, act accordingly when it comes to your best interest.

Sorry bout yer luck. My team gets extra credit for attending town halls. It works great for us. Oh, and I'm no Stankey bobblehead.

Extra credit, you have to ph----g kidding us. This isn't 8th grade math class. There is no "extra credit". No one is safe. You are not a "Bobblehead" because you are low level "manager". Not invited to the Town Hall meetings. Someone on your team might have went, but you did not. Bobblehead wannabe..

You upset because you can't whine about Stankey at the town hall.

OP—
Why don’t you raise your hand during an upcoming town hall event and ask a real question?

There’s no reason to listen/attend any of these silly town halls and they most certainly aren’t mandatory.

Of course they wouldn’t answer any real questions because they’re basically just going to act like politicians and never actually give anyone a straight answer.

It was the same way when RS came to BellSouth. All of his questions were given out to employees. I knew several people that were given the questions.

"Um...maybe because they are mandatory"

Wrong.

You don't have the intellect to be able to understand what is mandatory and what isn't. Town Halls are seldom "mandatory". And if less sycophants such as yourself attended these meaningless wastes of time, where the only purpose is to glad hand and boost the egos of insecure and ineffective leadership, maybe we could send a message.

Um...maybe because they are mandatory. I'm not a troublemaker, get a good bonus every year for meeting my requirements set forth by the company.

A better question would be, why do you attend them? I stopped years ago.
