I’m hearing that RTO of 4 days per week is coming but only at the Hub locations, can anyone lend credence to this? TPE and CE personnel at those locations will be required to return 4 days a week while local market offices etc will remain as FOW hybrid working 2-3 days in office max. I’ve heard some variation of this from multiple sources

Good luck to those outside a HUB location. Better start making arrangements for a moving company or update your resume and start looking for new employment. Gloves are off when the company is struggling with FCF.
For many, RTO should actually be relabeled as RTW. The push back j to the office is to ensure more consistent work os being performed across the board.
So paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in parking, gas, more vehicle maintenance just to force employees to RTO? Makes no sense and literally goes against the "Pillars" they always shove in our faces! They ask us to come up with ways to save the company money yet they are forcing us back to RTO? Mo--ns!
Not every business unit will be impacted by layoffs. Only those where revenues are down and work diminished due to obsolescence!
Jobs slashed. VPs met last Friday in Dallas to go over org reductions. Everything on table due to cash flow problem. RTO plans first drive people to office or retire then move jobs to hub cities of Dallas and ATL primarily.
might want to worry more about if you will have a job than if you will get to WFH with the plummeting stock
We're being preliminarily told that its four days per week at all locations; not just hubs. Subject to chnange every 15 minutes.....
In some groups T is so desperate to keep hard working, knowlegeable people that holding RTO over their heads will backfire. People who can afford to retire will & then they'll come back as contractors. RTO issue solved for them.
I will never RTO.
How many man-hours at AT&T are being burned up both remotely and in office by all the discussion and deliberation on remote work?
(This post, as an example.)
I'd wager it's a much bigger number than any benefit realized from Legg or Stankey talking up "Purpose" with a capital P, whatever that's supposed to be. The morale gain from the capital P Purpose is wiped out by subjecting employees to arbitrary 50 mile requirement that forces a 2 hour commute (ever try to cross 40 or even 20 miles in Dallas?) and go sit in an office.
Upvoted that post as useful to the forum, not because it's a good decision.
Hey, Mr. Risher: There's a whiteboard in Teams (or Zoom or whatever tool you choose).
It may not "feel [as] satisfying", Mr. Risher, but I'll stand my chat-messaged "ok" followed by "a done" against any of your staff's in-person reaction times.
How insulting.
We were told four days a week starting in June regardless of hub or not. That still a few weeks away so it’ll change six times between now and then.
Lyft is the latest company mandating that employees RTO.
“Things just move faster when you’re face to face,” Mr. Risher said in an interview. Remote work in the tech industry, he said, had come at a cost, leading to isolation and eroding culture. “There’s a real feeling of satisfaction that comes from working together at a whiteboard on a problem.”
Yes, C&E is return to office (RTO) five days a week .
Message has been clear by leadership that there are only 2 HUB locations.... Dallas & Atlanta. Yes, any HUB location exercise is meant to reduce HC to increase Free Cash Flow.
I think this hub location creation is to further get rid of employees that are unwilling to relocate.
Just make sure you have a credit score of less then 620 to get the best loan rate when you have to buy a new house if you do choose to relocate.
In our org all employees in 4 hub locations will be made office workers & need to come in 3-4 days (right now designation is tele worker)
VP indicated in our town hall this week that only 2 hub locations need to RTO 3x a week. Everyone else 1x month.
Orgs may differ.
Virtual Worker designations can be changed and/or terminated at any time by the Company. If a Virtual Worker designation is changed and/or terminated, the employee will have 60 days to report to their designated AT&T work address. Employees who need more than 60 days should talk with their supervisor to determine what time is needed.
It's your thang, do what cha wanna do.
He-l, they can't even agree on the HUB locations! This place is unreal.
That town hall wasn't empty because not enough people weren't in the office. It was empty because nobody cared and everyone was tired of the BS they spew at those things. Just another opportunity to pat each other on the back and blow sunshine up our rear ends. Only boot lickers or people who are threatened would show up there...
"And Donovan said we're a mobile workforce in 2013. "
Yeah, but the same Donovan came up here to Bedminster in 2016-2018 (+/-) and was unhappy to see the auditorium didn't fill to greet him. Many of us think that took the shine off virtual office for him, as he began RTO'ing large parts of his org after that empty town hall.
Because we all know town halls with the senior leaders is what brings the revenue. Right?
It just goes to show that Stankey has no authority in running at&t. All VP's enjoy doing their own thing. They rarely listen to Stankey, can you blame them? This company will continue to fail until discipline is returned.
If unable to regularly RTO, this makes you a candidate for upcoming layoff rounds. This is a factor that is being considered.
My entire team in TP&E was granted TW status in February.
That means nothing. And Donovan said we're a mobile workforce in 2013. Stank said we should be in the office in 2019
Everything I’ve heard points to it being group specific. They realized they can’t blanket force everyone back in because they don’t have the space outside of Dallas.
My entire team in TP&E was granted TW status in February.
Every group is doing their own thing . Most my group was made permanent virtual end of March
