Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Site anonymity

While I’m appreciative of the sites anonymity feature I wish there was some way to know who is posting. I feel like I have found my tribe here.

The HR people talkn bout how insignificant this site is... you right... you got it. I'd never heard of this site until coming to this company. Every single engr knows about this "not to be named" site, just most are watchers. Keep that HR game strong, you doing great.

Tired Director, your posts were the most appreciated and eagerly awaited posts on this site. 100% truth. Thank you for your service.

I posted numerous times as Tired Director before leaving in the mass layoff in May 2020. I provided truthful information pertaining to the timing of layoffs and how they will be conducted. I hardly come to this site anymore. Probably once a month and to no surprise the same leadership behaviors continue. Hang in there. I miss the employees but not the work.

I hear ya. Good for you finding that much greener pasture. Seriously, nobody should work in a job that they consider a dumpster, or has a horrible atmosphere, or double standards, or unethical behaviors, or induces trauma, or wants to be RIF’d, or work for fools, or is battling the company, or etc, etc. Each of those comments are from this thread, BTW.

What I simply don’t get is how folks have so little regard for themselves to stay working in a place where they are so miserable. I cannot imagine why anyone would punish themselves like that. One thing this site’s contributors get right, over and over again, is advice to move on. For your own mental and physical health, you really ought to. There are literally 100s- heck, 1000s of companies that need competent people- engineers, supply chain, office staff, etc.

And if you are doing it for money/seniority, it won’t do you much good if you destroy your health in the process.

@thp+1mka3sE1 Very thankfully, I haven't been in that dumpster of a place for over 3 years. My job was eliminated - 🥳 And yes, there are much greener pastures elsewhere.

I feel terrible for anyone who is still there enduring that horrible atmosphere. It used to be such a great place. I still have one or two friends at Honeyhe11/SPS from my years there. I look at this site every now and then, so that when I talk to my friends who are still there, I have an idea of what's going on. Signed, Relieved

I am from SPS in Charlotte, the negative on this site are 100% accurate. It may represent a small sample of the workforce, but what is said is very true for most US HON sites

I have to agree with @thp some what. I am at an Aero site with about 900 population. Mix of ISC, Engineering and Office staff. There's about a dozen folks who post comments here a couple times a week. Some post comments multiple times daily. They discuss what each other will say and speculate on the reactions. They take either side of any issue. I would not call them disgruntled. They are just mucking around. It's a little bit of fun to get them thru the day. Many others know of the site. Some look here weekly. Most look at it once or twice and forget about it.
The part about HR turned us on to the site, pulse of the workforce. Uh, No. That's BS.

@thp+1mka3sE1 You're funny. Corp hates this site and works to get posts taken down. Especially ones that that hit the mark, such as ones that document employees that have snapped (workplace "incidents"), lawsuits, unethical behavior and practices, and "cooking the books." How's PR going? SEC called yet?

Can't BS your way out of poor revenue and earnings with a buyback announced the day before. Have a great day watching the stock price fall...

Here the reviews are believable, unlike the fraudulent, scripted garbage on Glassdoor -- take a gander at this fresh steaming pile left yesterday:

Welcoming and friendly environment where I am confident I will grow and succeed

Pros

Knowledgeable and friendly employees where they will champion you to do your best as well as meet corporate goals

Cons

None to be shared at the moment

When I worked there in management, HR turned us onto this site. They felt that it was a pulse on the workforce to a degree- and thus a must read. After a few years though, baseless rumors and over inflammatory commentary started taking over. That trend continued until it became apparent that the site was overwhelmed by a few disgruntled employees along with a few former employees. Considering that the average thread has less than 10 replies and even “hot” threads are limited to double digits, an objective analysis suggests there are likely less than 200 actual contributors. That’s 0.2% of the workforce. There was no longer any interest in the site by management, although I’m sure some poor HR person in the main office was tasked to make sure specific individuals (names) are not disparaged in the posts.

Everyone needs a place to vent. This is yours. Good for you I say.

SPS ISC here! Don't care if they know who I am, or where I am, at this point. RIF me, please. Fools in FM/CHAR are so busy nailing jelly to the walls they couldn't figure it out anyway.

I have told work friends about this site and think I recognize some of their inputs from their cadence and style. But, I'd never ever volunteer any info that compromises me or them. It is a battle and we don't have squat for we-pons. Our best we-pon is truth and anonymity.
