Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

HR complaint -> layoff

I made an HR complaint about a year ago. Would that increase my odds of being laid off?

Someone said: "If you made a COBC complaint you’re gone because there is no COBC!"

Oh there is one--for the little people. The AVPs and up get a pass. Rank has its privileges. See the problem is that, in the AT&T culture, "leadership" can do no wrong and to accuse them is to be suspect yourself. COBC exists as a we-pon to use to control the nonpeople that actually do the work. Every once in a while they will sacrifice a big guy to make it look good but then back to normal.

Most employees think HR is here to protect them! If they only knew the truth. HR will chew you up and sp-t you out at the drop of a hat. They will set you up leading you to believe they are firmly on your side. Then without warning, stick a kn--e in your back.

The sheer volume of employees that think hr is there to help you explains the depth at which this company lacks an intelligent workforce.

"Stay off the radar when layoffs are frequent. "

In other words, always. Because at T the only thing that is certain is that there will be layoffs.

I made a complaint to HR and Director about EEOC violations. Within 5 days I was laid off.

Union Union Union… What if the union is a scam? A scam!? How could that be? https://www.unionfacts.com/employees/Communications_Workers_of_America
What if our union reps are being paid?!?!? What if some “part-time reps” are being paid more than our lawyers? If should just ignore that! Probably saving jobs. Take a look at the pay in the links. The guy yelling at the protests makes more than you from the union and a fat att salary

File a grievance with the union. The union president will side with management and threaten to kick you out of the local. Call state and explain the situation and then you will instantly be paid for any suspension. Some local presidents are more interested in buddying up to management than doing their job. Pay your dues and watch the union officials for corruption at all times.

HR is not your friend. Their job is to protect the company. If ever you think HR did something because of a complaint, it was simply because what they want and you want was temporary aligned. Most cases they do a little CYA coaching and that’s the end of it.

Yes, the non-retaliation clause is fake. It might not happen right away but Managers put the complaints into their sp--k bank for later.

Yes. Submission of an HR complaint is a factor considered. Update your resume!

"I filed a complaint because my manager touched my junk. Eew!"

They could find you junk? From what I've heard, that's serious skill!

Yes I've seen it happen to several peers. You're seen as nothing more than a thorn in your boss and his or her boss' a-s. Added stat to filter yourself away from those that don't. Good luck

Yes, absolutely. You are considered a troublemaker, nothing more, nothing less. If you haven't learned by now HR is not your friend. They are the devil in disguise, they will suck you in by acting like your friend, then turn on you like a rabbid dog.
