Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Adjusting hours to align with India

I've been hearing more and more teams are having to work hours that are more convenient for the India and Manila offices. Anyone know if this is true? I can see Eff-face Charlie using this as another lever to get people to resign.

The amount of job requisitions open in India and the Philippines is insane. I was laid off in February and was looking everyday (wasn’t ready to give up all my vacation). I’m glad I didn’t find anything. If you can wait it out to get your severance

Make every job a series of mindless tasks and then offshore it. Then rename and reclassify the jobs you can’t offshore, to cut pay in every possible way. F—k WF.

Yes. Keep sending all our borrowers personal information overseas. Tax returns with social security numbers are indias favorites. Talk about identity theft legally done!

I'm honestly surprised that there hasn't been a massive hack yet from India, given how many policies were weakened to facilitate off shore.

Yep. After bedtime with my kids tonight I will have to log in to follow up with someone oversees because I 100% bet they haven’t done what they needed to. Just what I want to be doing on my Sunday night.

India workers will replace US workers as long as WF partners with them. I'm hoping that India's support of Russia will change things when the Ukraine war expands to include NATO or other escalations. Otherwise, resistance is futile my friends. If you have options then get out now and save yourself. Oh, and Tracy will only make things worst for tech.

What is the big project for 2024? I know the previous project was adjusting CORE to allow the 3.5 rate for the specialty LMI programs.

Yes. In corporate risk we're being told we have to adjust to our India's teams hours of 5/6am-1/2pm ET. Even folks in Mountain and Pacific time. And, have to still do 6 hours in office 3x a week. We also spend most if that time babysitting them. I agree with the commentator below that it's like dealing with robots. Once my team gets laid off after the big project we're working on finishes early 2024, I feel bad for teams left that will only have support from India. Sadly is all of corporate America.

Yes, we are forces to adjust to align with India work hours. They are behaving as if they are the owners, and we are supporting servants. It is their time :)

I have already been working earlier hours for years to be able to work alongside the India team.

I don't think there is many US teams left everywhere..... It is knowledge extraction everywhere I have been. I am even not in tech, because this is spilling over to other fields too.

Pockets of us might not feel it today, but our children will definitely have to live it.

This is exactly what’s happening at every large company. Becomes impossible to keep both the India team and US teams in sync and yes it will be the US teams that find themselves mandated to change more and more of their processes and working hours to suit the India teams…until Ai it was really the only way for these large companies to compete because all of their competitors were doing the same thing. The current CEO and CIO of my company came from PepsiCo where they had implemented the same move to India. We actually found out after the India partnership was established that the same CIO was a investor and partner in the India company that was hired to build the India campus…

Seeing it now with technology groups in Irving. Maybe in the process of lift and shift? I’d hate to say we’re here to support them when it used to be vise versa.
