Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Glass ceilings and constructive discharge

That merit raise was one of the thousand cuts they have been inflicting on employees for the past decade. Take away their happiness, slowly strangle the morale out of them, take their cars away, stop matching their 401k, make work conditions so miserable customers are calling and yelling where are my parts, make it so bad they underperform until you have no choice but to let them go or they quit.

You still here? Well that's because you see the glass ceiling and you like glass ceilings.

Xerox likes employees that like glass ceilings.

Carry-on peasant.

Same thing for me. In the past 5 years I've been rated Exceeds Expectations all 5 years, yet I just got a joke of 1% merit increase. I'm in my lower 50s age wise.

I personally know that a new (younger) team member - not a slouch, but not a superstar - got 4%. I too was told that Merit funds this year were shifted toward employees who were at the lower end of their salary band. So maybe it is a new tactic to get the older ones to walk.

Same thing happened to me. Rated Exceeds Expectations for the past 4 years. Got a measly 1.5% merit this year after 3% or above the last 4 years.

Surprised, really. Starting to wonder if they are using Merit as a tool to pass off the higher (older?) earners to get them to walk out while adding comp to the lower paid (younger?) worker bees to get them to stay another year since they are cheaper.

Welcome to Mama Xerox. At some point in time everyone gets a turn in the barrel.
Enjoy!

The fact that you received 1.5 is your real appraisal. The way the process works is that the whole company must average to a certain percentage. Managers cannot reward high performance without taking from someone else. Looks like roughly 1/2 of your raise went to a high performer.

Just a line of BS. Sorry bud, better luck at the next place.

I've never received less than "meets expectations" on an annual review, and normally get "exceeds expectations". For 2021 and 2022 I received "exceeds expectations".

But when I was given my merit increase this year it was 1.5% with a "thanks for your efforts". I asked why it was so much lower than the normal 3-5% increase I usually get.

I was told that the direction this year was to give more to employees who were lower in their salary band. Has anyone else heard this, or was I just fed a line of BS?

So due to all the layoffs and offshoring my workload is 2-4x what it was 4 years ago. And they toss me a pittance 1.5% and basically tell me to be glad for that.

All while I can't get parts or supplies for my customers, I can't get answers to escalations, I can't understand half of the agents at the different help desks, and my customers complain about hearing CHICKENS in the background sometimes when they call the help desk.

Makes total sense to me.

This years "merit increase" made my work ethic come to a halt. I do the minimum now, have been since I was told about my "increase." Doing less work gets the same result at the end of the day. Can't get parts, can't understand the help desk, no one cares. Morale in the sh!tter.

Mmmm...yeah, and if you could do the work of the other people who quit, that'd be great.

And if you don't, then you have a bad attitude.

Wow. Some really bitter people. Wow nasty….

All i can day is …some people enjoy getting their skulls bashed in on a daily basis. If that's your idea of fun. Go for it. It certainly is not mine.

I wouldn’t trust xerox to mail a letter for me. Let alone work there. Let alone stay working there!!! Omg. What are you people thinking?!?!

Do you honestly believe staying here until the bitter end is a career path?

Well when the 25 ton weight comes crashing down on you, i hope they will at least be able to identify your remains. That much i do wish for you.

Seriously, what do you need to hear from people? Not to mention vendors, customers, employees and former employees. Not to mention investors.
Good Lord Why are you in denial?
This is Not a good situation to even be close to ….at all. No one is going to call you and tell you to leave. It’s just easier to call you a casualty of war.

You're obviously not licking the right person's shoes or not getting at the tread well enough. Its almost like you don't know shoes at all, nobody wearing Skechers or NB. Pro tip: try steam cleaning the laces with your breath.
