P5 to P3 with a higher band

I am interviewing for a P3 position with a higher salary bank than my current P5 position. If I get chosen, will a qualify for a pay raise? Has anyone gone through such scenarios before?

It depends. On the basic level it appears you are taking a lower position so no increase. But if the new position requires more responsibility, critical work, wider scope, then maybe a case can be made.

Both the P level and comp level have to be higher to get a raise.

Know this personally - with lateral moves you cannot get a raise. Recruiter said it was not even an option they can present.

The recruiter will definitely give you HR bs about the P level and disregard the compensation grade. It’s probably more up to the hiring manager though

These are always lateral moves with zero pay raise

No you will not get a pay raise for lateral moves or moves down. Make the move if it suits you though! Cheers!

ask the recruiter. as to whether it's promo or not I think depends on the compensation profile grade? if going from grade 120 to 130 then yes but if going from 120 to 110 or staying the same then probably no
