Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Will I get fired if I can’t RTO?

If I have a documented medical disability and cannot return to office when it’s time, will I get fired for it?
I was planning on talking to my manager about requesting an accommodation but I wasn’t sure if I would be allowed to do that. I don’t want to quit.

Contact HR ... jot your manager. There are accommodations you can apply for but being required to share with your manager would be a Hippa violation

Your disability is that you're an A Whole in nature.

Lots of misinformation on this thread. Do NOT submit paperwork/medical info to your manager.

Go to teamworks and search "accommodation". Follow the steps there to open a request. The accommodation group will tell you what is needed from your doctor, and review what is submitted. If it is found to be adequate to justify an accommodation AND the accommodation is WFH (there are other types) then the manager is asked "can this job be done without undue hardship to your unit". If manager says yes, then it is granted. Manager is not told why accommodation is needed.

Just submit an accommodation request. Give your manager a heads up you're doing so. You don't need to tell your manager anything specific other than you're submitting a medical accommodation request.

"Wells Fargo is forcing everyone back to the office."

You spelled destroying the company wrong. They will lose the RTO war even if some of us don't live to see the end of it. F Hudson Yards for trying, but they will lose. It's as inevitable as the stagecoach vs the automobile 'competition'.

@awy+1mc1Qxwl the employee handbook does not answer medical RTO questions. If you don’t like the question, move on. It’s sad we have to use a public forum to ask questions like this because we can’t internally ask at work without fear of termination.

I’m glad you posted this. I’m in the same boat. I have a legit medical reason for wfm for a few more months. I was considering requesting to extend it because things are not where I thought they would be. I’m in a pretty safe role and they are desperately hiring in my area. I want to go in the office but don’t think I’ll meet the 3 days a week every week when I have medical appointments and treatment. I’m not going to drive back to the office for a middle of the day appointment. My boss is new to WF and knows nothing. Although we have a close team, my boss is Mia most of the time. I would have never considered getting in “trouble” or losing my job because of a medical reason. RTO policies are messed up.

You will be fired. We need you in the office. The toilet paper is getting crispy as it's not getting used quickly enough so please RTO and commit to pinching a loaf or two each day while you're in. Much appreciated.

Trust me. No matter how many dr excuses you have they will figure out a way to get rid of you. Find a company and job that is truly remote. Wells Fargo is forcing everyone back to the office.

get a letter from your doctor and submit it to your manager. They will open a HR case, HR will call you to discuss and you'll know right then and there if they'll approve it. It may have to go higher for review

It is easy to get an accommodation if you have a legitimate medical reason. You just put in a request and get a note from doctor that describes the reason and as long as your manager agrees that your job can be done WFH it can be approved.

Request the accommodation once you've been told to return. Nobody will stop you from requesting it.
