June 22nd Letters

We’ve been hearing a lot about letters coming out by June 22 but does anyone have any information/ideas on what those first actual letters will say? Will it just be an initial notification of where your hub location is and a poll of whether you are planning on moving or not? Or will it also include severance information specific to the employee should they choose not to move? Any ideas based on past experiences? Good luck to all.

What will they say? Any Seers amongst us who can peek into the future?

"Hello here. I never professed to know about RTO/Hub notifications. I could care less about them, I’m already in a hub".. You should care.. the 6/22 surplus has nothing to do with RTO?? So take it. Leave it. Stick it up your bu-t. Take your pick. (Mo--n)

Stupid post. Bahaha.!

Having a tradition layoff along with the RTO directive makes perfect sense. There are probably some people or groups they don’t want to move to a hub, they just want them gone. I don’t doubt it. For the people that know, is this June 22 layoff for management or craft?

Hello here. I never professed to know about RTO/Hub notifications. I could care less about them, I’m already in a hub and have already been told I’m not impacted by the June 22 surplus. I could also care less if anyone believes what I’ve posted. Take it. Leave it. Stick it up your bu-t. Take your pick. But I’ll be willing to be I know more than you.

The great purge is set to happen soon. Move or lose that's if your not one of the ones that got surplus before hand.

"Hello! The June 22 letter has been planned well before the RTO/Hub news. It is not the same . It will notify an already determined pool of people who are being surplussed and has absolutely nothing to do with RTO. It’s a plain vanilla surplus that requires the victims to be off the payroll on 7/6. It will impact CNIO. Who else I don’t know. But I know this."

Respectfully, I don't think you know everything. Nobody on this list knows everything. I've seen communications from Legg's org (ATS) that state that we will be getting notifications regarding RTO on or around June 16-June 22. Maybe you know something specific about CNIO, but do you really know, with authority, that we will not be getting RTO communications i that time frame? I seriously doubt that you have that knowledge. I freely admit that I don't know what's going on, only what I've seen and have been told, which may or may not come to pass. But I always qualify my statements as such. Because right now, I don't think anyone has a real handle on what is happening- it's all speculation.

Most of the CNIO managers have fake degrees from the University of Phoenix, upper management knows that they didn’t attend classes at a university like they did. No remorse when the job elimination is sent.

They made it clear about two separate exercises going on at the same time, RTO and Layoffs. You are thinking too logically and forget this is T.

“ The June 22 letter is ONLY a Layoff Notification with 2 weeks notice. No pre notification will go out. This is the only activity happening 6/22.”

How is it “ONLY” a layoff notice if first they have to figure out who will/will not move to their assigned hub?

For example: Johnny isn’t near any hub. He would need to be given the hub that he should report to and a timeline of when to report. If Johnny decides not to upheave his entire life to move for the company (on his own dime) THEN the severance talk would take place. So how is the very first letter “ONLY” about severance?

Relocate then get laid off within a year. The whole idea is to get x % to resign which is a way to reduce force without a “layoff”. No severance and not filing for the company. When it comes to employment this is based in state policy and AT&T would not contest.

Looks like tons of job opportunities for those that already live in Dallas. JTS will make T once again.

Just remember, relocating does nothing to guarantee your job for any extended period of time.

Hey dork who lives in California and won’t get unemployment because you voted for Biden and all the your states money is going to woke reparations, if you lived in a normal state like everyone else you would get unemployment if your job moves.

Everyone needs to be reviewing/considering options to move now. The formal decision turnaround response time will be pretty quick.

This definitely isn't happening.

"AVP thought that the letter would require some kind of acknowledgement and if you acknowledge it negatively, you would be eligible for severance."

This isn't happening in June. Later in the summer.

I really hope they're not going to force people to decide immediately, whatever it is, it will be a big decision, and there has to be some time to think about it, talk it over with a spouse, discuss with a financial planner, for some, maybe even consult with an attorney. What we need first is a set of clear and detailed information covering every specific scenario. As it stands at the moment, no one has gotten that as far as I'm aware.

"I wouldn’t expect anything in the way of severance. If you choose not to go you’re essentially quitting. No severance and no unemployment, unless you’re in a state with strong protections for employees."

There is always one guy, huh, not too bright... or maybe it's the same guy? IDK how many times we have to go over this. So I'm not even going to bother.

Why is it taking so long for the letters to be created? Aren’t all of them going to start with “Dear John” as an opening?

"Yes. We were told letters start coming out June 16th.
Individual letters for each person. Your manager will share it with you.
I feel like things are still fluid though. Because we are told things can still change."

Ditto. Our director and AVP said letters would be coming out starting on the 16th but possibly not till the 22nd. AVP thought that the letter would require some kind of acknowledgement and if you acknowledge it negatively, you would be eligible for severance. But the operative word there is "eligible". No details on how that would happen.

Our AVP also did not know if the notification would include the "designation", with respect to Office or Virtual. And it was emphasized that things were fluid and may change.

I disagree with the person who said "no severance or unemployment". Not that AT&T is all that trustworthy, but we have been lead to believe that there will be severance if unable to relocate, but of course, they could change their minds. As far as unemployment goes, I already checked with my state. My state allows unemployment if you are required to relocate or work longer than a reasonable/customary commuting distance if these conditions were not specified at hiring. Being forced to relocate is not essential quitting, it is more accurately termed constructive dismissal. But everyone should check their own state's unemployment regulations. I do think it is fairly common for this to be covered in other states as well as my own. And remember, AT&T does not make the decision with respect to unemployment. It's the sate's decision, not the company's.

Best of luck to everyone.

You can get unemployment you dork. If your job is moved to Indonesia it means your laid off. No more job where you live. If you have to travel a long distance to a job location because the company moved it means you lost a job. If you don’t accept a transfer does not mean you quit di---e boy.
