Kertz org moving to Dallas?

Hello,
I’m in the Jerrie kertz org living outside the hubs. My closest “office” is 162 miles away. I’ve been remote, with the highest ratings possible, combined with high performance HIPO training, for 12 years now. I perform at an extremely high level and often present to AVP’s and VP’s. I say all that to say I’m being asked to move to Dallas. Anyone else being asked to move in Jerries shop”. I get this is all about making employees quit, so I honestly would drive the 162 miles, stay with friends, and keep all the equity in my house rather than moving to Dallas and starting over with a high percentage mortgage

Get an apartment - go in the office 3 days a week. I'm retired but was always concerned about a relo to Dallas.

Craft is still safe because we're still hiring in my location. We're short a couple of technicians and they're putting out the job reqs shortly to fill the openings! None of our techs feel threatened by any of this downsizing. As a matter of fact, it is never ever discussed in our weekly meetings, never an issue! If it does happen, we'll all be blindsided!

We need to do the polar opposite of what the top dogs do. What they have done has driven this place in the damn ground. Stupid is as stupid does. If this RTO/HUB cr-p doesn’t scream of desperation I don’t know what does. Following a desperate person is the worst thing you can do. Someone drowning will grab onto whatever they can. They’ll not take me down with them. I’m saving myself.

You have a shockingly low level of self confidence.

You go on about your ratings and qualifications, yet you’re too scared to make a leap and take your talents elsewhere.

Wake up. They don’t care about you and they don’t want you.

Upper management referred to is as “reorg” when eliminating craft positions and not balancing the work load for special services digital techs. Now lower management’s reduction is called “rto”. What comes around goes around. You saw the writing on the wall. Plain as the nose on your face, Next elimination will be craft employees without productive work, ie: DEG, central office, construction, cable repair, wire techs. If you go in early with out work you’ll be eliminated. Start looking for work now or the union will write you off as usual.

Why would anyone willingly relocate on their own dime with the risk of being surplussed the next day? That’s what makes this especially evil as it’s a completely bad faith move on the part of AT&T. The sad thing is that it’s going to be successful. Top talent will leave getting the headcount down and enough remaining employees not in a position to leave or awaiting retirement will hang on until the end.

HIPO and top 30% rating costs the company the same. The reality of this is as follows - the company wants you out. They have promoted you, given you the highest bonus and salary and now they regret it. All they want is your work until they're done with you.

My only sympathy for kertz is the untimely loss of her son to cancer. Otherwise, she's in it for herself and the girls. She thinks she's brilliant with the same hair, makeup, and laugh - but underneath she's a cold clueless socialite trying to build her circle of influence and wealth. She has run off countless employees.

Remember your place - we are employees - we are a cost center.

Unfortunately being HIPO etc doesn't; event factor in ---- you are a cost item and they are looking to reduce costs.

As the company reduces costs, the fact that Stankey, Pascal, McElfresh and others keep their jobs while running the company into the ground is just plain wrong...

Take your millions and go...you have caused enough damage...

The last Kertz Town Hall tells you all you need to know about her. Clueless about what her org actually does and likely equally so about hubbing moves. She’s also powerless, her boss barks a bit but the next level up from Sambar is McElfresh and he’s MIA these days. It’s also why there is zero trust. You might accept the Q1 layoffs as yearly BAU, but round two and hubbing paints a view of the truth of the leadership ruthlessness.

I’m Kertz as well but haven’t been asked to move. I’m in Atlanta though so safe for now. You are correct about this exercise is getting people to quit, off payroll. This has nothing to do with collaboration or productivity. Both of those will rapidly decline once this kicks in. Our leaders in Dallas have been collaborating, face to face, everyday and still have run this company into the ground so jamming people into sweat shop type environments is not going to produce anything except lower morale. It will take 20-30 minutes each day to get all the drop in space equipment to work since you’ll have a new seat each day. Curious too if leadership even factors in the impact of people they are firing on 6/22, or driving them to quit, taking their services to Tmobile. Revenue will continue to decline as current employees out the door will take their services elsewhere

"The moves aren't about getting people to quit. They're about making the business competitive through the upcoming recession and the continued decline of revenue. You should be excited about moving to Dallas. My friend is a Rwaltor, and they said it's a great time to buy in the Dallas area!"

What a strange logic. You must be excited that you don't have to move and got to preach others they should be excited to move.
