First I have been VO for over 15 years at AT&T and have always been in the top tier for reviews and considered a top contributor. I can identify dozens of other people I work with that are VO and are doing more than just fine as Legg put it but are top tier workers and kicking a-s at their jobs.
This RTO and the hubs appears to be retaliation based on people saying, why should I go to the office everyone I work with is in different locations so I will just sit in the office on the phone. The times I have gone into the office my productivity drops significantly due to people catching me at the virtual water cooler and walk by conversations.
Those who have been successful should not be impacted by this especially being told to have to move in less than 6 months with no relocation package. I am not worried about finding another job but I planned on finishing my career hear but the company has turned to a toxic environment. The billions wasted by leadership and the fact that as I walk out the door my management is unhappy to see me go but are also stuck with people they dont want due to our zip codes.
AT&T makes it hard to fire slackers and people who are generally just cr-ppy at their job. I have been involved in tracking the lack of work of others for their PIP so my management could get rid of them. Many times demonstrated lack of work, and I mean doing less than 20 hours work a month is not enough to get rid of someone, its just sad...
Letting high performers go because our leadership sucks and keeping low performers is what our leadership deserves, but my immediate leadership to my VP dont deserve what will remain...
