Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

unimaginable

Unimaginable five years ago was our company sliding from first to third in wireless, or losing prime spots in spectrum, or accumulating better part of a quarter trillion in debt.

Unimaginable now is how parts of the business would continue with so many go-to people at risk. Lose a few here and there, and people shift around and compensate. This will have real impacts on a number of products and revenue will suffer.

But remember these guys are seasoned executives with a solid strategy. That's why they are so highly compensated. That's why they are consistent in their messages from quarter to quarter. And why it's important to be near them as they craft a modern work culture for the coming decades that will guide the company forward to greater success.

....

Nahh, just kidding. This is about shedding expensive expert staff because cash flow is cratering. The decisions were made by egos fluffed by bringing down 200 grand per day, but who feel dissed when they walk out on stage to an expensive renovated auditorium 3/4 empty. It couldn't be their strategic decisions at fault, of course, so it MUST be the headcount and culture.

Stankey is at the root of this problem and needs to be replaced and then move onto replacing weak members on the board. By then it may be too late and a buyout by another company may be the solution

Not going to lie, I sort of imagined this.
