Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Too Big to Fail Part Deux

Government will bail AT&T out. They are depending on it. They are just lining things up for when they come out the other side.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Government is who started this slide when they denied the TMO merger. They deserve to have to bail us out.

Yes, once again the AT&T upper management still manages this company with a monopoly mindset from the Bell era. They believe that T is critical and an essential part of the U.S. infrastructure and would never be allowed to fail! We shall see

If they think a bail out is coming, my money would be break it up in marketable pieces, a lot of companies would take pieces and parts. Windstream, cox, ilecs so on.

Great point. Hyperinflation would payoff AT&T fix but not variable rate debt. Clearly, Fed has to bail out AT&T to eliminate the debt. The only question is how.

Government is already bailing them out - through inflation. They've already inflated something like 20% of AT&T's debt away, along with the federal debt they're inflating away.

I'm not buying this return to 2% inflation nonsense we hear from the Fed. The deficits are too large.

Agreed. If AT&T ceased to function the impact on US and global economy would be catastrophic. AT&T is considered critical infrastructure. Has nothing to do with too big to fail. AT&T will be on top of list for bailout. Question is what would that Governance and Oversight look like?
