Notifications & Relocation Assistance

Have any L2/L3 been notified regarding their assigned location?

Have any of those that have been notified been offered relocation $$$? Is so, which package?

Personally, I think if no assistance that means they do not what you.

I submitted a question in yesterday’s townhall and asked what the “generous relocation services” Stankey referred to meant since we were already told no relo package - they skipped over my question.

"If a position is associated with common skills in the commercial sector (ex: Business Analyst, Project Manager), it makes sense for no relo funding to be provided. It would be more cost effective for T to hire someone new so he or she could start to bridge the experience gap. Within a couple months, the new local employee would be fully up to speed."

You sounded like one of the privileged with no regards to those doing real works with "common skills" so you can enjoy all the perks. What "special skills" the L4 and above have? Running the company to the ground? This is not about AT&T saving cost. It's about the employee's livelihood and career.

"Relo is L4 and above only"

So despicable if the relocation assistance is only offered to the rich who can afford it but not to those who at the bottom doing actual work and really needs assistance.

"Relocation assistance is what a decent company will and should provide for their affected employees, not a handout."

I wouldn't more even if they did offer a generous relocation package. Not for this company. Haven't we been disrespected enough?

"My understanding is also that severance will be offered but only if off payroll by a certain
date to avoid folks saying they will move, but not meaning it."

This is exactly what I'm expecting, and have been saying, but for some reason it triggers some people, as it seems many assume they can promise to move, and then just milk AT&T till the end of the year, and at that time receive their severance. Would be nice, but I just don't think it will work that way.

The “generous moving allowance” comment can easily be clarified at a later time to indicate it was only meant for certain positions. Some of the posters on this board are starting to sound really desperate. Please check on mental health support services through employee assistance if needed.

Att will be sued possibly class action if they don’t pay it. He clearly stated that he was offering a “generous moving allowance” Sorry Att but Stanky screwed up again and now you have to honor his promise or a wave of lawsuits that appear to be winnable

If you were officially told your hub is in a different state with no relocation assistance, get a copy of the press release where he states there are generous relocation packages, and submit it as an ethics complaint. And remember, AT&T has a no retaliation policy for doing so.

I asked my VP about that since Stankey mentioned our generous relo package. He basically laughed and said dont expect anyone to get money.

A VP friend told me that each business unit can decide if they want to offer relocation, but it would be from the BU budget. Most orgs don’t have that budget available. Hers absolutely does not. Some might - but I assume it would be on a case by case basis. My understanding is also that severance will be offered but only if off payroll by a certain
date to avoid folks saying they will move, but not meaning it.

Non-hub L3 here, I've not been notified of my assigned location.

I have been told there is zero relocation assistance.

If I had to guess, only L5 and up will get help with relocation. Which will be very few people, since most are already in Dallas or Atlanta.

it has been very clearly stated to employees, there is no relocation $$$. Skankey just lies to the press. Who in their right mind would want to relocate and work for the worst leadership and in the worst culture in technology. You want to uproot your family and move to these SH1TH@LE cities and go into the dirty/nasty AT&T facilities and work for these sociopathic leaders?

OP said: "I know this post will get a lot of downvotes..."

Not a down vote. But contrary to what OP said about easy replacement of jobs, depends upon how technical the position is. IT personnel can and do manage systems no one would every want to be involved in. In the past, T simply doesn't hire. They discard system and processes as unneeded and then discard the employees.

I know this post will get a lot of downvotes, but T will likely be deciding which jobs/positions SHOULD qualify for relocation assistance. In an earlier thread, a Project Manager mentioned receiving notice that his or her position/team was moving to the Dallas hub.
Remembering that the hub model refers to positions and not people, is project management a critical skill that makes sense to be associated with relocation funding? Very few positions are critical or specialized at T. Many jobs could be considered easy candidates for replacement. With a little training, new employees hired directly out of a given target area (or likely offshore) could be brought in if needed to fill a workload coverage gap,.
Will there be a short term impact? Of course. But within a relatively short period of time, continuous operations will resume.
T is in a fight for survival. The hard decisions being made aren’t meant to be personal. Too many people are clearly forgetting this when reading posts on this board.
