Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

T- Stock

Will AT&T dip below $16 dollars this week?

Stock has already lost 33% over the last 10 years and 21% over the last 12 months.

Listen, as far as the stock price is concerned, Stankey is doing the best job he can!!! LOL Unfortunately, that is correct

Any positive bounce in stock price will be the result of yet another corporate buy-back to temporarily artificially enhance value.

If T didn't buy back every share it could, the price might likely be below $10 right now.

And the punchline is that when adjusted for inflation, today's stock price (say $16) is almost the equivalent of the trading price back in 1984, which was about $5, and lower than the adjusted price for the last 40 years.

That's right, T's stock hasn't been this worthless for Forty Years.

Stink has managed to return T to the good ole days, all right.

There is no longer any credibility with at&t on Wall Street. Stankey and Desroaches have lied way too many times! Remember the lame excuse when at&t failed to meet FCF? Customers late paying their bills, forgot to mention most all at&t customers are on autopay! What a coulple of bald faced liars!

I would think ditching all is employees will be great for the stock price until they figure out no one is left that knows how to keep the lights on much less innovate

BOD is just an elite club of friends helping friends enrich themselves, has nothing to do with performance anymore. The dividend is keeping the stock from tanking.

I believe there is definitely some market manipulation. Each time T is about to hit a new low it pops back up for a day as if someone is trying to keep it from dipping.

It has been unsuccessful every time.

It will get VERY close to $16.00 and suddenly jump 20-30 cents. Sadly the leadership doesn’t own enough stock to prop it up for weeks at a time.

It will continue to slide downward until the Street sees an improvement in financials over a few quarters. Credibility is at an all time low with investors, the bill has come due for all the poor decisions and dubious claims. Leadership has run out of rabbits in the hat and chairs to shuffle so look for it to get worse before a positive change happens. They have hit bottom with the excuse of not meeting due to customer late payments, doesn’t pass the smell test.

Who cares?

The BOD doesn't seem to care.

In fact, they handsomely reward our executive leadership for that performance. Longest bull run in market history 2009 -2020 and T somehow went into the toilet and never emerged. A chimpanzee could have managed to growth during that period.

Why should you care?

Just sell it when it hits your 401K, as even the contracted financial advisor to employees 401K's recommends.

Check the overall market, you get what you vote for, inflation is hurting leveraged companies with the higher interest rates. Forcing companies to make reductions in labor for a quick fix to their financials, layoffs will continue until the economy improves.

Probably.
Losing 30% of your workforce usually isn’t a positive catalyst.
