Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Beware the reverse stock split

If the ship isn't righted in a certain amount of time, lookout for the reverse stock split.
This will equal to decreasing the dividend yet again.

Yeah reverse split the stock and use all the money to pay workers. Good deal.

You would only loose half your shares if it was a 2 for 1 reversal. More like a 3 to 1 or a 4 to 1 reversal with the dividend raised enough to have a 5 to 6% payout based on the new revised share price. In doing this the company could pay down the debt faster and or issue new stock for future growth prospects. Few years down the road rinse and repeat.

Wait, reverse stock split would mean I loose half my shares. No way I go for that.

With $100B in annual revenues, we find our company struggling to survive. Selling of assets for pennies on the dollar. Robbing Peter to pay Paul. $135B in debt, go bury your head in the sand!

Yeah right, that's what they said at ENRON, Worldcom, GM, Texaco, Pacific Gas & Electric, and Chrysler just to name a few.
AT&T is just another tu-d in the punchbowl. Sorry!

With a $100 Billion in annual revenues, ATT isn't going bankrupt anytime soon! There's enough people in the country that still want ATT wireless service as well as businesses that are using T services. So, T is in the business for the long haul and isn't going anywhere!
