Can you force people to relocate? Why don’t they just layoff people like every other company out there?
You know workers had a voice in this country back in the day.

As long as when they “let me go” for not relocating to their CR@P hubs, they give me the severance i am due. PERIOD. I WILL NOT RESIGN OR RELOCATE.
Let me guess, as a child your sports teams didn’t keep score and everyone got trophies?
I really want to sue Randall Stephenson and that no good BOD who approved Directv and TimeWarner acquisitions. He was given a golden parachute and millions of dollars afterwards for “consulting fees”. Shame!
T is an at Will employer, so no lawsuit would apply.
Lawsuit? Do you really think T was not prepared? I guarantee that their lawyers have every single situation covered to protect the company.
I'm not agreeing with T. I'm just stating facts.
They aren’t “forcing” anyone to re locate… just as the didnt “force”anyone to get the covid shots… it’s your choice if you want to or not, but if you don’t want to, unfortunately you will not have a job at AT&T, it’s 100% your choice to continue employment at a new location or not.
why even post here talk to a labor employment attorney. they will tell you if you have a chance of winning a lawsuit. good luck in your endeavors.
AT&T has a army of lawyers, they welcome any and all law suits. They cut their teeth on cases much bigger than this. In the end, you will maybe get peanuts, the lawyers get the real money. Welcome to law suits 101!
I’ve been forced to move 5 times for nothing more than not having a lower NCS date, so yes they can force you to move to keep your job.
Randy and Stankey has gotten us to this point because of irresponsible and incompetent decisions since the TMobile failure merger !! They should have stuck with their core business rather constantly chasing customers in new business ventures DTV, Time Warner and Xander !! Quality and innovation suffered thanks to the continued outsourcing to 3rd party vendors Amdocs, Accenture, IBM, TecH M and on and on. They lost their identity and now using RTO as a mask to cut more employees. The enormous debt and horrible stock and cash flow is all on Randy, Stankey and Donovan! The board continues to make the same mistakes by putting incompetent CEOs and then paying them enormous amount of salary/stock to continue the same outcome. The timing of us this with an economy that’s on the rocks too!!
Yes, companies can determine place of business. When a company defines those work locations, those unable to follow the work are not eligible for severance. This play is the oldest trick in the book for cost saving measures. There are also no laws that state a company must pay severance to any employee, it's considered a benefit not governed by any state workforce commission.
Did you just start working here? This has been done already.
