Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

How can I vote my shares in Fidelity AT&T Shares Fund?

Anyone know how to cast shareholder vote on the AT&T Shares Fund (not the same as shares of T stock)?

I did it years ago, and I have been looking in Outlook for the instructions that "would be sent" as mentioned in the SPD, but I can't find it. (That's no surprise as Outlook search misses quite a lot.)

I'm asking because if enough shareholders vote, there's a "remote" chance (pun intended) that the one employee really should move on would be shown the door.

You're welcome!

Your first intuition is right. This work move is for Stankey to talk about at this meeting (See we have a plan to reduce expenses). I would listen very carefully today. There will be explicit comments made to shareholder that are not in line with what we, as employees are being told. The more my peers and I have been tossing this around in our heads, the more we are starting to realize a few things:

  1. There is little to no expectation that people will move to hub sites, unless they are Gen Z, young, unattached to anything. This is just the target group Stankey wants working at T.
  2. There will be massive headcount reductions by attrition. You won't move, you quit. No severance
  3. Those that do move that are established will likely have to put their house on the market. Blackrock, our new Internet Partner, is also in the business of cash offers on real estate. They will come in, buy up these properties for cheap, and rent them out at a premium, and provide Internet into them.
  4. This BOD will continue to blame their slaves....I mean workforce, for their lack of productivity.
  5. If you can, be looking for employment elsewhere. No, the grass isn't always greener elsewhere, but it is pretty dry and brown over here.

Thanks @xph+1mG91LOP .

I received a notice for a few actual shares I have in a separate Roth account, and voted those. A Fidelity rep on phone could not find any information on AT&T Shares Fund voting rights.

It's a rhetorical question now anyway, as the voting service site for T shares reports that voting closed May 17 at 23:59. That makes sense as the meeting is today. Oh well.

It's interesting this was announced ahead, but not too far ahead, of the annual meeting. Might there have been a strategy behind that, something to have in front of the big institutional investors as cost-reduction candy but not so far as to allow for an organized employee fund owner vote?

Nahhh.....that's giving far too much credit to current leadership. I hear from one "core site" in Bedminster that the corporate real estate manager is imploring people to stay home if possible as the new facility is several hundred seats smaller than the former HQ, which is majority occupied by other tenents already. (The GNC is no more and theyre' in the middle of auctioning off artwork and furniture). Some in this forum say senior VPs were blindsided by this major change in our culture—which make no mistake, it is; AT&T was a leader in making remote work possible 20 years ago but squandered the opportunity to own that market.

That all smells more like desperation than strategy.

You should have received a notice of annual meeting of stockholders back at the beginning of May. It contains a control number. Votes are cast at www.envisionreports.com/att, but you need the control number.

The meeting is today at 3:30 PM CT meetnow.global/ATT2023
