Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

New RTO policy very popular.

Employees are coming out of the woodwork to comment on the new RTO policy. Relax Frances, it will only affect 15% as far as relocation. Three days in the office per week is a cakewalk.

As a senior manager, I have already confirmed with my team that only 28% will remain with the company if exceptions are not allowed. Perhaps the OP and Stankey are correct in some areas but my department will likely be absorbed into another department due to lack of staffing.

OP is obviously a pillowbiter.

The RTO policy is the most popular and satisfying thing since sliced bread. It’s going to raise the stock price to $50. I can’t wait.

"Many people are being told they will have to move to Dallas or Atlanta or find a new job."

I'd like to hear from some of them on here. Who has specifically been told this? By when are you expected to do this or the axe falls? You have a month and a half to sell your house and drag the family across the country?

The "I heard from this guy" and "they said in a big meeting" stuff is not valuable.

I've had a very long career and these mass move things used to be much more common. And it's never been done via an emailed memo nor "by July."

You can't expect someone as out of touch with reality as Stankey to realize how stupid forcing people back to the office is. Let the manager of each employee determine what is best since they know the work being done - I know, that is too logical.

If only this was about going into the office 3 days a week. Many people are being told they will have to move to Dallas or Atlanta or find a new job.

Actually, this will mean more time with your family….because AT&T is your family. Your real family.

“ It’s bananas if you now have to spend 2 hours a day in traffic.”

And less time with our families.

Groups are being told “your workgroup is now in Dallas” so you can’t just be at a hub.

It’s bananas if you now have to spend 2 hours a day in traffic. And when you get there you’re on Teams calls anyway. And worse, there’s no private space unless you reserve it, which is not feasible to do for 5-7 meetings a day that need to be held in private given the confidential nature of many conversations.
