I'm just so sick and tired of it hanging around all the time. Now not only is it marching orders to go sit at a desk where I still won't be able to collaborate with those sitting around me, but now my livelihood is being threatened altogether with perhaps having to move to a "Fun Zone" where I also will not be able to collaborate with those sitting around me. It's just moving from one desk to another on a larger floor with people I still don't know and aren't on my team or even in my department or organization. I give up trying to figure this good for nothing company out. If you want to be Twitter or Apple, then go be those things.

No one does care at the C-Suite leadership level. It's all for show. Call to action is for everyone else to stop caring too. They can't put all ya'll on PIPs or can they? Save your money, update your resume, start interviewing. It may take a bit, but your health and sanity are worth more than this non-sense.
Maybe it is just another clown show for investors as it was "The 2020 transformation" which they 'did' since 2016 and it hasn't happen so far with all its non existing career paths and new roles - except highly promised role 'laid off'.
Repeat this mantra over and over: "No One Cares"
Because it's that simple. The perfectly valid arguments around phony collaboration, offices unequipped to handle the number of folks that will need to access them, reduced productivity, inability to host calls, broken monitors, no connectivity, etc. etc.
No One Cares.
Just do as you're told. Or don't.
It's really that simple at the end of it all.

The open collaboration space is one thing that I absolutely abhor and tells me that this has nothing to do with productivity. It's just a breeding ground for the next pandemic. Imagine if you will, going to the office and sitting on a teams call while some loud mouth climber wants you and everyone within a 200ft radius to hear how important he is or how tough he is? This was a daily occurrence and you could find a different place to sit, but the offices are full of these types. The distraction was horrible, and I was a manager. I usually went to the office late, and left early to go home to work and take calls since people would make huddle rooms their personal offices. For software developers and other ICs it's even worse and productivity ki-ler especially when their home setups (Multiple monitors ect) are much better suited to that type of work and noise distractions ki-l focus.
