Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

It's amazing we have all this mismanagment since 2009 with all this snazzy east coast brain power

Since the easy coast talent is so superior to everywhere else and it's going on 14 years you'd think they would have this all cleaned up by now. Oh yeah, they ain't all that and a bag of chips. They seem to forget their 'brainpower' created their own downfall of Wachovia. They are now well on the way to the downfall of Wells Fargo.

Ah, the “red states get more federal money” meme, my favorite. When citing that stat you should follow up with what the demographics are in those states. Funny how MS, LA and AL get dumped on for welfare and they’re compared to MA, MS and VT. I wonder what’s so different about them?

Wachovia was a solid strong bank in its original form. Then came FUNB who stayed true to its name and tried to push us out west with that Chite storm of acquisition of Golden West and all its bad loans and mortgages. Trying to go WEST is what ki-led Wachovia/FUNB.

Nothing but downhill since absorbing the cancer that was Wachovia.

I think you hit it straight on the head. My suspicion has been for a while now, that this is what is being taught in Business schools, especially the to the MBAs.

The best talent should be utilized regardless of where they CHOOSE to live. Of course with DEI ("token") brought to you by Fed govt requirements and the offshore push for $$ take priority and diminish our ability to operate effectively.

It seems like the corporate model is not set up to ensure a company’s long-term success. If executives make decisions to maximize the profits in the short-term for the 3-5 years of their tenure to make the most money possible off their stock options, they are not motivated to invest in the long-term health of the company, customer service, or employee well-being.
And executives can fully time the company decisions to increase the stock price when they plan to sell. Thought that was illegal but I’ve seen too many executive trades that happened right before major announcements. Loopholes are for the rich. Long-term employees have an incentive for the company to do well in the long-term. Executives do not.

Yes, thankfully they are now a blue state and have had a growing economy for many years. They will need to have a bigger % of IRS tax revenue for the Fed to subsidize red state shortfalls since red states absorb the highest % of all social / welfare programs.

2ogs+1m9o607r you realize Charlotte is in a red state, right? Also get more in federal tax dollars in than Iowa and Minnesota; https://www.moneygeek.com/living/states-most-reliant-federal-government/

(also both Iowa and Minnesota literacy rates are higher than NC as well)

The east coast taxes support and subsidize all the failing, illiterate and unproductive red states.

East Coast sold the country to China.

If you have visit the typical east coast banking / hedge fund sectors, you will feel like being in Shanghai 50% of the time.

The other 50% will feel like Mumbai. Many companies in east coast have replaced everyone with H1B when they can. Then offshore the rest.

Charlie and his henchmen will take WFC down when they have sucked every last dollar out of it for themselves. Not before then.

This is a big mess to clean up. I am astounded by the people who loved the complacency (and corruption) of the prior regime. It was easy living for them. Now the new people are cleaning up the garbage.

It was a great run for many of you on this board (I honestly don’t know if you realize you’re part of the problem).

Time to grab a broom. 🧹

Wait, aren't the headquarters in San Francisco? And the fake accounts were generated by legacy Wells Fargo? Wachovia's biggest problem was Golden West, not fake accounts.

Keep holding onto the past though.

Yes, east coast brainpower. Unfortunately, forced to hire mostly trumptards, especially in Charlotte.

the crooks came from norwest... which acquired WF and then assumed that name.

From deep in the so-called heartland. Carrie T was a Nebraskan born & raised.

Wachovia was a hot mess all on its own before WF acquired it.

Yep...the failing bank was Wachovia, Wells' should have let the shotg-n wedding with Citi take place, then all this "brain power" would be Citi's problem.

I have to say that I agree with you. Somedays, I think maybe we should just pack up and close this whole operation down. WF has lasted longer than most companies- maybe this is just how we should end it all. Sell off the pieces. Have a big party- "Good job everybody! We gave it our best shot. But it's just not worth it. Goodbye!"
