Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Profit exceeds estimates

How will this affect layoffs? Is it naive to think that cuts might slow down a bit due to good results?

Dude they mention efficiency initiatives so that’s a full budget year

No… the fact that a quarter performed better than “analyst estimates” means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things

Great, now they have the funds to expand the displacement teams in HR.

We will never stop doing layoffs in the name of efficiency.

But....... how will you sponsor hundreds of H1B every year if there is no firing?

efficiency ratio is improved, but nowhere near chase or B of A. until we get there, there will be continued downsizings.

Dream on. Layoffs will continue. This was a way to take the spotlight off of obliterating what is left. Chainsaw Charlie is not done yet

Profit won’t change a thing. More for the top. If anything, this’ll accelerate the disposal of bottom feeders to make sure that Charlie, the C Suite, the board, and higher tiered investors get the biggest slice of the cake. Anyone else will be lucky if they see any crumbs. Wealth in America trickles from the bottom up. They need you only until it becomes inconvenient. We’re all just an expense to be managed and managed out when someone needs a new Gucci handbag, belt, or pair of shoes.
