Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Layoff candidates

Do directors give performance reviews to associate directors? If so, what happens when they get a bad review? Would they become a candidate for layoffs?

AD's are the ones admitted to the club by way of nepotism. As soon as their family member is gone from the company they risk layoff.

The individual asking this question clearly knows little or nothing about management titles. Associate Directors are held by the same standards as other employees because that's what they are...'employees'. They are given performance appraisals, performance reviewed by whom ever they report and are surplussed and/or dismissed for the same reasons (downsizing, stack racked, COBC violations, poor performance, etc) as any other ATT employee.

Unless better than current ADs, why hire the new candidate and risk a surplus of a current brown nose. The exception is an open slot and a spare future surplus candidate.

Supervisors assess their employees. So if this person works for a Director, yes, that AD will be reviewed by the Director.

If a layoff was to happen in that business unit and if the person was a poor performer in the affected work group, there's a high chance the person will be a candidate for layoff.

Layoff candidate = AT&T Employee

Not complicated.

Absolutely not, they are treated like sacred cattle. AD's never get a bad review, doing so would reflect a negative light on the Director that hired/promoted them.
