Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Offshoring and ongoing Layoffs Facts and Salaries

Layoff’s to continue through end of June.

Why do we even bother to offshore anymore? Based on all the recent hiring of offshore individuals that continue, I would suspect that layoffs will coincide with this. I am not sure where the cost savings comes in except for the unfortunate individuals who will not receive severance because of We-ponized RTO, or some other baby bloomin politics.

It is pathetic how shortsighted our leaders are! These Jabronis are literally hiring people that barely speak English, from a country that doesn’t have any privacy laws and paying these offshore hires six figures.

There is no such thing as being a loyal anymore. I’m sure the captain is navigating this ship so he could lay off or fire people that are entitled to a severance. This way he can get his seven figure raise based on shortsighted cost savings initiatives. If anyone bothered to do a drill down on the data you would see that off shoring would/does create a big risk to the company.

I think it’s safe to say that the company is on a multi year, effort, to increase it’s risk, find ways to get around adding the necessary controls, and probably apply for extensions until the captain jumps ship.

So keep this in mind when you think about being loyal to your employer, or why they make absurd office policies that make no sense except to drive attrition, and lose talent across the company.

Stop letting these bank leaders scare you about this so-called recession nonsense. Take care of YOURSELF and only worry about you!! If you do that, You will now be in line with the company’s leadership motives/mindset.

FACT IS! The grass is much much greener on the other side. There are plenty of jobs out there in this industry. They also pay much better than this company. It took me a few years to figure this out, however leaving for a competitor last year is the best thing I did for my mind, body, and my wallet!

If you don’t believe me, see for yourself how much WF is paying these offshore candybums! Everything posted/said is public information.

I'm an analyst at WFB and they have been introducing the India team slowly to "help" us so we can focus on high-level tasks. They are pushing us to essentially train them to do our jobs and we need to work w/ them to train them to essentially replace us. WFB hired us as analysts and they don't think we can't see what's their doing. I prefer you be straight up & say what is actually going on instead of trying to be sly. It's stupid for WFB to replace analyst work to India as the point of starting off as an analyst is to understand the foundational finances/UW and after you get your rounds in, then it starts to click & you can work your way up to fully understanding all aspects of the deal & catch anything that looks off. I love Indian food & the people, but they are just not qualified and will never be to do what us US-based analysts are doing. There is also no real connection/care to what is behind those numbers they are spreading for us either & they don't meet the clients/see the businesses/real estate. Executives at the top are not making the best decisions.

H1B was brought in to “fill’ technical positions that could not be filled by American workers…..such BS, it is used to bring in low paid, less talented drones to fill body count so they can try and keep the lights on after letting go US support. Let’s just keep giving away our jobs and build a middle class for a country that doesn’t particularly like us and that our bank can never do business in because all banks are state controlled. Hence why WF is only listed as a service company rather than a bank or financial institution. Wake up America.

@djf

WFC doesn’t have a Senior Lead Software Engineer title. It goes from Lead(P4) to Principal(P5).

From someone that is employed on a visa at Wells Fargo these numbers often fall short. My entry in the H1B database is about 30k off my base salary. I think these numbers are taken from the LCA which the immigration attorneys submit.

H1B visa brings workers from China and India. Why should we hire and train them?

Those salaries are actually low. Sr. Lead Software Engineer here in Chandler at $215k plus bonus. US citizen 8 years with WFC.

And those salaries are for those already here in the US. If a foreign national is already here and needs a sponsor employer to extend or apply for a work visa, not the salaries they pay in India/Philippines.

I’m loyal to whoever will give me the most money for the least amount of he-l. That’s how I’ve survived at the WF clown town for almost 20 years. It’s a fine line.

Why are we giving our jobs to them?

India takes our jobs through H1B and outsourcing, then works on de-dollarization on our backs. China is clearly fighting an economic, technology war.

What if one day Petro Dollar is no more, and it is Petro Yuan tomorrow?

I was shocked to see these salaries. I wish I got out of Wells 3 years before I was laid off. But... like many, I was coasting towards retirement. D-mb.

H1B is used because in order to compete to hire American workers, they'd have to pay more. Those salary numbers are at the bottom end of the pay scale. They'd have to add $30K to $40K to get an American new hire.
